    Thursday Pack Activities

Adventure Pack Milo and Roger Roger enjoyed chasing each other up and down the trail at CU South Campus this morning. Colby and Griff ran around a bit, too, but didn't keep up with the Doodles. Sputnik and Racer watched them with interest, but stayed on leash with me. That was a good thing when Milo and Roger Roger dove into some muddy water, but the rest of the pack kept dry and un-muddied. The Doodles rinsed off in the pond near the end of our hike. Adventure Pack Sputnik waited in ambush to then chase Ruffers around the trails this morning. Meanwhile, Zoe and Mamacita trotted along with me, making stops every so often to sniff around in the brush. It was a pretty quiet morning. Ruffers sniffed hello with one dog who passed us with their jogging human, after I called Sputnik back over to me. We passed a couple small dogs on our way back, as well, but they got scooped up at the side of the trail and didn't sniff hello

Adventure Pack Griff and Colby ran around together a bit, but mostly just explored the brush side-by-side today. Racer licked up melted puddles in the ice as we made our way over some broad expanses. At one point in the hike, while I was cleaning up after Sputnik did his business, a Husky came up and sniffed hello with him while my back was turned and Sputnik didn't growl a peep or otherwise act untoward in any way - he just sniffed hello along with his packmates. Adventure Pack Sputnik, Mamacita, Roger Roger, and Rucksack were happy to get out onto the trails together this morning. There were a few icy stretches at Enchanted Mesa, but it was mostly easy to navigate. We didn't see many dogs on the trail today, but Sputnik and Mamacita were perfectly civil with the two we did pass. Rucksack and Roger Roger didn't find any good sticks to haul today. Variety Pack Coco was back with the pack today and had a fun time chasing after Ruffer

Morning Boarding Pack Clover, Isaac, Cooper, Monarch, and Ruby stayed pretty orderly throughout our walk around Wonderland Lake this morning, aside from Ruby and Clover repeatedly swapping places and gradually getting their leashes more and more wrapped around each other. That was easy enough to remedy, though. When it came to sniffing, everyone wanted to check out the same spots together. It was a very pleasant start to the day. Adventure Pack Ruffers and Rucksack ran all

Adventure Pack Colby and Sputnik chased each other around at CU South Campus this morning, after giving each other lots of kisses in the car on the way there. Meanwhile, Rucksack was on the hunt for another stick to carry. Roger Roger was a bit too much with Rucksack today, so he went back on the leash pretty quickly. Meanwhile, Racer reverted to her leash-pulling ways and required a lot of attention. Rucksack eventually found his prize, and hauled it for the rest of the

Adventure Pack Roger Roger scooped snow up in his mouth as we headed up the trail toward Enchanted Mesa. We made a few stops along the way so the whole pack could sniff around in the snowy brush. Sputnik and Mamacita were both in pleasant moods today when it came to passing by other dogs. On our way back, Roger Roger and Rucksack found a choice stick, and Rucksack carried it the rest of the way back to the trail head. It had been a long time since Rucksack hauled lumber o

Adventure Pack Sputnik, Mamacita, Rucksack, and Roger Roger hiked Enchanted Mesa this morning. It was a pretty quiet time on the trails, but we did come across a few other dogs along the way, and Sputnik and Mamacita behaved themselves more civilly than they had been as of late. The packed down ice of yesterday was a bit slushier today, so navigating the trail wasn't as treacherous. Variety Pack Rucksack and little Zoe both pulled around a bit as we walked around Wonderland

Adventure Pack Griff was full of energy on the trails this morning. He raced all around like a maniac even when Sputnik wasn't chasing after him. It was fun to see him go, but I herded him off the side of the trail when other hikers came by because I didn't want him to startle them, especially along icy stretches. Sputnik and Racer did not have as high a level of energy as their packmate today. Racer has continued to show incremental improvement in her leash-walking manne

Adventure Pack The warming weather resulted in some slushy snow on the way up to Enchanted Mesa, which was easier to navigate than icy patches. Ruffers brought up the rear, as usual. She and Sputnik were both pretty mellow during their time off leash. I took care with Sputnik to sit him down and have him wait at the side of the trail while other dogs passed, and he did a much better job of keeping it together today. We came across the hiker whom we often cross paths with,
