Tuesday Pack Activities

Adventure Pack

Griff, Racer, and Sputnik headed up the quiet Mesa Trail from the Chautauqua this morning. After some sniffing along Bluebell Road, we kept a steady pace through most of the rest of the hike, and only had a few encounters with other hikers. The warming temperatures made for a very pleasant outing. Sputnik was especially good about the few dogs we did encounter today, as were Griff and Racer.

Variety Pack

Avo and Rey were raring to go when we arrived at the Valmont Dog Park this afternoon. They had several chases during the course of our park visit, which all eventually turned into wrestling matches. There were a couple times I stepped in to interrupt Rey when she kept diving on top of Avo and chewing at her face when Avo was on her back. When the tables were turned and Rey was the one on her back, Avo did a good job of demonstrating more respectful play habits, by laying her head against Rey without biting at her, and then stepping back and waiting for Rey to get up and come at her again. Hopefully Rey picks up on this habit, and they can manage the intensity of their play better without needing me to step in as referee. Meanwhile, Zoey was pretty happy chasing tennis balls. She actually brought them back to me a lot of the time, instead of just playing keep-away. Milo was more interested in wandering around to greet other dogs. He came by to check in with me every now and then by sidling up to me while I squatted down to dog level.
