Tuesday Pack Activities
Adventure Pack
Griff, Racer, and Sputnik took a moment to do some thorough sniffing around the trail head at the Chautauqua. However, once we got a little bit up the trail, they were all more interested in keeping on the move. Even though the Chautauqua was quite busy, the Saddle Rock Trail was sparsely traveled; so Sputnik got to join Griff off-leash for a while, and the two of them had fun racing each other up the trail. When one got ahead, they would wait in place and look back at the other. Then, the other would zoom up and outpace the one who was waiting. They took turns like that for a little while. Meanwhile, Racer was walking very nicely by my side, and I stopped every so often to give her pets and let her know that I noticed how good she was being.
Variety Pack
There was one particular downed tree limb that drew the interests of Mamacita, Avo, and Rey for a couple minutes. Zoey did not seem to understand what all the fuss was about, but the rest of the pack found the exposed wood from where the limb broke off to be very interesting. Later on, Zoey was drawn to a huge tree that we often stop at when we walk the Boulder Creek Path. We passed a squirrel at one point, and Rey made a move for it as we neared. Despite Rey's lunge, I was surprised to see that Avo stayed in formation along with Zoey and Mamacita. I had Rey sit to settle her down, and then she and Avo both continued to watch with full attention, but without reacting, as the squirrel ran up a nearby tree.
