Friday Pack Activities
Adventure Pack
Sputnik, Lizzo, Griff, and Dylan took a leisurely stroll along the Boulder Creek Path this morning. Dylan lay in the shallows when we stopped at the water early on. Then he got up, waded out to chest-deep water, and just sat in place for a while. Sputnik and Griff didn't go out quite as deep as Dylan, but they waded around a bit. Lizzo is still figuring out water. She stepped in about ankle-deep, then lifted a single paw out to splash at the surface. She proceeded to jump up and down in place a few times, and did some more pawing at it; then, she jumped up and down in place some more. It was a very entertaining show.
Variety Pack
The pack kept to the water's edge when we stopped at Boulder Creek during our afternoon walk. Ruby and Lou don't know each other well, and Lou was very forward when greeting. Ruby was unsure of Lou, so I made Lou give her some space in the packmobile. Ruby grew more and more relaxed as they walked side-by-side, and they started sniffing out spots together, almost nose-to-nose, without any side glances. Meanwhile, Carl did a great job walking alongside Ruffers. He has made big strides in his on-leash manners since joining the pack as a little pup, and he pulled even less today than on other recent walks. Ever the scavenger, Ruffers found a discarded food wrap in the bushes at Eben G. Fine Park today. Lou struggled with her urge to crawl into my lap when we stopped for a photo, and managed to stay in place, wiggling and smiling, as I crouched down to get the shot.
