    Friday Pack Activities

Adventure Pack We came by a dog at Shanahan Ridge this morning who looked like a slightly smaller version of Roger Roger. Dylan was very happy to run over and say hello, while Sputnik stayed at my side on the leash. We hung out for a minute while Dylan and the Roger Roger lookalike hopped around with each other a bit. When it was time to part, Dylan looked at me with pleading eyes and whined. He eventually gave in and came running to catch up with me and Sputnik. Variety

Adventure Pack A woman complimented the dogs on how cute they all were, when we were on our way from the connector to the main trail at Shanahan Ridge. Racer promptly went up to her to get some pets, followed quickly by Carl. Sputnik sauntered over afterwards. Griff stood off to the side, uninterested in her attention. Carl, Racer, and Sputnik each munched on snow when the others were getting loved on. Griff did not partake in the snow snack either. When we got to the m

Adventure Pack Ruffers and Dylan spent some time off leash together early on and enjoyed saying hello to a Border Collie we saw. Dylan rolled around on one patch of snow. After that, Milo and Sputnik took a turn off leash together. Sputnik took his time and ate a lot of snow today. Dylan joined Milo off leash a little while later, and the pair of them led the way on the return leg. Variety Pack Zoey, Carl, Rey, Milo, and Lou enjoyed a pretty quiet walk at the Goose Creek

    Friday Pack Activities

Adventure Pack Milo and Dylan roamed the snow-covered fields while Sputnik took his time hiking along in line behind me. The pair of them went pretty far off together at one point. When I called them, Dylan promptly came trotting back to me and Sputnik. Milo lingered behind a bit longer, and then came racing to catch up with us. Variety Pack Lou, Zoey, Ruffers, Carl, and Milo walked the Goose Creek Greenway this afternoon. The path was well-cleared but the parking had a l

Adventure Pack Carl and Zoey gathered snowballs on their legs as we hiked in the freshly-fallen snow at Shanahan Ridge this morning. Meanwhile, Racer and Sputnik munched on mouthful after mouthful of the white stuff. Variety Pack Avo, Milo, and Mamacita headed down the Boulder Creek Path this afternoon. We encountered a pair of geese near the library, and Avo leapt up and barked, sending them airborne before they settled in the water of the creek. A little later on, Avo an

Adventure Pack Milo and Sputnik both barked a bit while Ruffers and Dylan greeted dogs on the trails at Shanahan Ridge. Dylan was content with a pretty brief sniff hello. Ruffers did her best to elicit play from the other dogs, but bowing and hopping around. One dog took the bait and they had a bit of fun together before we headed off in different directions; the others weren't sure about the invitation, and just walked on. Adventure Pack The pack had a good time at Shanahan Ridge this morning. I made sure to give Carl and Griff a lot of praise when they came back to my call. There was just one time when they were too interested in a woman jogging up the trail to turn their attention away and come back to me - the other times they did a good job of returning, even when there were other dogs a short way off. Racer and Milo stayed on leash with me through the hike. Racer was pretty set on veer

Adventure Pack Milo, Dylan, Sputnik, and Ruffers all enjoyed the remaining snowy patches at Shanahan Ridge. Sputnik munched on the snow. Ruffers and Dylan both wiggled around in it. Milo just hopped around playfully and then lay in it, without rolling over the way his packmates did. Everyone took turns off-leash in different pairs along the way. Variety Pack Lou, Zoey, Rey, Carl, and Milo made a new friend today, when a dog came trotting down the path without its human in

    Friday Pack Activities

Adventure Pack Milo and Dylan had a fun time together at Shanahan Ridge this morning. At first, they each wandered around separately, doing their own things; but a little way into the hike, they started going for little runs with each other. We encountered dogs hiking on leash with their humans a few times, and the boys came back promptly whenever I called them. Variety Pack Snow had started falling heavily by the time Zoey, Ruffers, Lou, Carl, Milo, and Mamacita headed out

Adventure Pack Sputnik seemed to be in a pretty good mood today. He and Racer both happily took water while Carl and Griff were off exploring together. I practiced recall a couple times with Carl and Griff, and gave everyone treats when they came. During the same stretch of trail where they ignored me Tuesday, they again went on ahead despite me calling them back. This time it was to greet another dog who was jogging on leash with his human. I'll have to keep practicing
