Bonus Pack

Bear, Mrs. Miggins, John, and Roger Roger walked to Wonderland Lake this morning. A Great Blue Heron was hanging out at the pond. The dogs did not seem as impressed as I was by the sight of it swooping across the water. Beard was eager to get going to wherever we were going and kept needing reminding to slow down and stay with the pack. Roger Roger, who has always been a dutiful follower, was actually pulling a bit himself as well, as he wanted to veer off and check out scents along the way with Mrs. Miggins following suit at his side. John was the one bringing up the rear the way Roger Roger has usually done.

Adventure Pack

Yoshi led the way up Gregory Canyon while Lucy was sticking close to me, Lou, and Tozai. Yoshi frequently paused and looked back, waiting for the rest of us to catch up to him before he ventured off ahead for the next stretch. The pack sniffed a fleeting, friendly greeting with a dog who was heading up on our way back down, after they all politely pulled over to the side to give the other dog and his human room to pass. Lou got some pets from our OSMP volunteer friend Rich at the trail head while Tozai and Yoshi sniffed at his open lunch bag, and Lucy watched the comings and goings of the other hikers around.

Variety Pack

Milo and Alfie climbed down into Boulder Creek at Eben G. Fine Park at the start of our afternoon stroll, while Ruffers and Carl just got their toes wet on the rock step and dipped their noses down for a quick drink. They both took longer drinks from the CamelBak a bit later on in the walk. A goose by the kids' fishing pond hissed at us as we walked by, even though we had given it a wide berth and none of the dogs reacted to it. Many angles of our pack photos tend to hide how big Alfie really is, but today's photo taken near the library really makes his size apparent.
