Tuesday Pack Activities (7/28/2026)
Adventure Pack There was a downpour just after we parked at The Peoples' Crossing, so we waited in the packmobile until it settled down to a light sprinkle. Arlo was nervous about the rolls of thunder in the distance, but he mustered the courage to continue up the mountain. Racer made a move toward the ditch when we crossed it, but quickly gave up the attempt to draw us down to it when she noticed it was dry. The skies gradually cleared more and more as we made our way up and

Monday Pack Activities (7/27/2026)
Adventure Pack We started up the mountain at The Peoples' Crossing but turned back early when the some came out from behind the clouds and started beating on us. Carl tested the waters on a small ledge at the bottom of the stone steps at Eben G. Fine Park while his packmates got right in. Bear gets so happy when he's in the water and shows it with his playful head tosses. Tozai and Rey were tamer in their enjoyment but happily lingered in the creek until I spurred the group o

Friday Pack Activities (7/24/2026)
Adventure Pack Nelly chilled on a nearby boulder while her packmates got into Boulder Creek at the start of our pack walk. During our second stop at the creek, Yoshi did some doggie-paddling in a pocket of deep water. Sanni went to the same area but the water wasn't quite deep enough for her to swim so she just stood and let the water flow past her. Lou stuck to shallower water, where she lay down for a good soak. Nelly stretched her neck down from the bank to get a drink wit

Thursday Pack Activities (7/23/2026)
Adventure Pack Rey and Arlo started off the hike by getting lots of love from a friendly hiker who asked to say hello. Griff and Racer stood by while their gregarious counterparts wiggled and leaned into the pets they were getting. The ditches at The Peoples' Crossing are dry but still it was cool and cloudy enough today for the pack to venture up the mountain trails. Racer and Arlo both turned to head down to Silver Lake Ditch when we crossed the small footbridge on our way

Wednesday Pack Activities (7/22/2026)
Adventure Pack Bear, Racer, Arlo, and Lucy had to skip the first watering spot at Een G. Fine Park again because it was occupied. Arlo's protest was briefer today, as he is starting to get used to the fact that we can't always go there. Arlo, Racer, and Bear were all very excited to get in and get wet when we found a good spot further down the creek. Lucy was more hesitant about getting into the water today - not as much as her sister, Nelly, but she did step in very delicate

Tuesday Pack Activities (7/21/2026)
Adventure Pack Racer enjoyed wading in the deep water at Boulder Creek, while Arlo did his bows; Griff got in up to his elbows; Imogene only got her paws wet as she stuck to the shallowest waters. We spent a pretty long while at the water during our two stops, so we didn't get as far down the creek as usual. Arlo enjoyed rolling in the grass at Central Park and then Imogene pounced on him when he got back up. Griff kicked up grass after each spot he marked along the way. Vari

Monday Pack Activities (7/20/2026)
Adventure Pack Despite temperatures pushing 100 degrees Fahrenheit today, Kona had no interest in getting into Boulder Creek with her packmates Rey, Bear, and Carl. Bear kept swooshing and tossing his head around playfully in the water on our first stop. On the second stop, Rey found a good pocket of deep water to swim in. Carl got his paws wet as he took a drink from the stone steps on the first stop and stayed on the bank with Kona on the second stop. I poured some ice wate

Friday Pack Activities (7/17/2026)
Adventure Pack Today's outing was all about practicing patience and self-control. Teo was the most in need of the lessons, but Lucy and Yoshi also stand to benefit from them. Teo did a better job around the bicycles today than yesterday, but he got very worked up about the few other dogs we saw along Boulder Creek Path and really melted down about one of them. Lucy and Yoshi were mostly doing great with just occasional checks when they got impatient and started trying to get

Thursday Pack Activities (7/16/2026)
Adventure Pack Griff, Arlo, Rey, and Racer had to wait to get into the creek today, because our usual watering hole at Eben G. Fine Park was occupied. Arlo stopped in place and gave me a pleading look as we were walking past it but decided to trust me and relent in his protest. A little further down the way, everybody got right into the water. Arlo did his usual bows and also pawed around at the submerged boulders and branches in a manner that was a lot like how Racer does th

Wednesday Pack Activities (7/15/2026)
Adventure Pack Lucy, Rey, Bear, and Tozai walked Boulder Creek Path today. Everybody got right into the water right from the get-go today, which helped for keeping cool. On the return leg of our walk, Tozai made a startled move much like Carl did yesterday, and I think it was around the same area. I still didn't see anything and none of the other dogs reacted. However, I did notice a couple bunnies at different points in the walk, so maybe that is the explanation behind the m
