Thursday Pack Activities (11/20/2025)
Adventure Pack We came by a herd of deer crossing Bluebell-Baird Trail today. Rey started to run after them, but stopped and turned back after a few dozen yards. Griff was off leash, but treated the deer with the same indifference as the rabbits in his yard. Racer, Arlo, and Rey all took water from the CamelBak, but Griff was happy with just a treat and he passed on the water I offered afterwards. The contrast between Racer's drinking technique and her brother Arlo's made for

Wednesday Pack Activities (11/19/2025)
Adventure Pack The pack headed to Chautauqua today. Nelly wandered into the tall grass to poke around while Ruffers took her time sniffing at the edge of the trail. Tozai and Bear both sniffed a bit, left their marks, then moved along. Tozai playfully tackled Bear a couple times, and Bear shuffled him off. Bear couldn't be convinced to chase or get into more of a wrestling match today. Variety Pack Carl, Lumi, Griff, and Alfie hit the trails at CU South this afternoon. We enc

Tuesday Pack Activities (11/18/2025)
Adventure Pack Arlo hopped into the packmobile with such excited energy that he drew a grumble from Griff, who has a penchant for bossing around wild puppies. Usually, Griff accepts Arlo's sniffs and face licks without complaint, but I guess it was just a little too much today. When we hit the trail, Racer set a stop-and-go pace as she wanted to investigate many scents along the way. The pack didn't notice a herd of deer up the mountain that was traveling the same game trail

Monday Pack Activities (11/17/2025)
Adventure Pack Rey and Bear poked around in the brush at the edge of the Ski Jump Trail and Bluebell-Baird. Meanwhile, Tozai was watching their every move with keen interest. Ruffers was more interested in following her own nose, pausing to sniff around at the spots that caught her interest. When Tozai had his turn off leash a bit later, he mostly just hovered around Rey and tried to get her attention by poking at her; and when everyone was back on leash together at the end o

Friday Pack Activities (11/14/2025)
Adventure Pack There was a trodden path through the tall grass, which intersected Ski Jump Trail. Nelly and Yoshi were drawn to the apparent game trail and started sniffing their way up it. They were disappointed when I stopped them from pursuing it further and had them return to the regular trail with Tozai and Lou, who were not as allured by the scents as their packmates. Chautauqua was bustling today. Tozai and Yoshi enjoyed some off-leash rough-housing time when we got to

Thursday Pack Activities (11/13/2025)
Adventure Pack It was a very warm morning for mid-November as Griff, Rey, Arlo, and Racer set out across the Chautauqua Meadow. We took our time there were many scents to attract the pack along the way. Racer's drive to sniff continued as we headed up the mountain on Ski Jump Trail. Rey and Griff led the way but didn't venture far ahead. Arlo was especially thirsty today and took a few long turns lapping up water from the CamelBak spout. Variety Pack Carl was a little less ob

Wednesday Pack Activities (11/12/2025)
Adventure Pack With cool air and a cloudy sky, Bear's more playful side came out today. He took the bait when Tozai danced around in front of him, and the two of them chased and rough-housed as we hiked up Ski Jump Trail and across Bluebell-Baird. Meanwhile, Ruffers and Nelly kept me company on leash as they trotted along at my sides. Nelly wasn't going for any grass today - the dried-out stuff must not be as appealing. Ruffers kept up her pace without lagging behind much thi

Monday Pack Activities (11/10/2025)
Adventure Pack Tozai and Bear went off leash together after the pack poked their way through Chautauqua Meadow. Tozai was full of playful energy, and Bear was not, but Rey was bristling as she watched Tozai bounce around. So, Rey went off leash with Tozai in Bear's place, and the two of them enjoyed chasing and tackling each other for a while. Bear went off leash with Ruffers after that, and they were more each others' speed. They brought up the rear together as we hiked acro

Friday Pack Activities (11/7/2025)
Adventure Pack Teo, Lou, Tozai, and Nelly headed up Ski Jump Trail after making their way through Chautauqua Meadow. Teo's self-control seems to be gradually continuing to improve but he still gets very worked up when other dogs go by, so we moved away from the intersection and waited for a minute to let a dog through before we got onto Ski Jump. When we passed other dogs later in the hike, we pulled over to the side of the trail. Lou, Tozai, and Nelly all provided a good exa

Thursday Pack Activities (11/6/2025)
Adventure Pack Rey and Griff led the way by a short distance while they were off leash during our hike at Chautauqua this morning. The wind was blowing pretty hard and the trails were all but empty. Arlo was sporting his fancy, red bandana for the second time. He and Racer ventured into the tall grass a few times - sometimes to do their business, other times just to sniff around a bit. Everyone wanted a drink from the CamelBak when we made a short pit stop. Variety Pack Milo,
