Thursday Pack Activities (8/6/2026)

Adventure Pack
Racer, Alfie, Rey, and Arlo headed to Boulder Creek Path for today's outing. Everyone enjoyed their dip in the creek, but Arlo especially, as usual. We encountered a hummingbird who lingered nearby for a couple minutes before zipping off, but it was so small that I couldn't get a good photo of it even though it wasn't very far off. There were a lot of goose droppings on the path by the kids' fishing pond, which Racer and Alfie showed a little too much interest in, so we hurried through as I kept them from snatching any up. Rey and Arlo trotted right along at my other side without attempting to pause at any of the poop.
Variety Pack
I entered Valmont Dog Park with a ball pre-loaded in the Chuckit! for Carl, which he was very happy about. Tozai and Alfie greeted the nearest dog while Carl immediately got to fetching. We roamed the park a bit, lingering in the shade of trees along the way. Tozai sometimes raced Carl for the ball, while Alfie just sniffed around. There was a young dog named Willow who enjoyed chasing Carl while he fetched, and then she started fetching a ball of her own alongside him. Tozai and Alfie both played a bit with Willow, but Alfie kept spoiling it by trying to mount her. Tozai made friends with another dog at the south end of the park and did a good job of lying down in front of her to invite play instead of bulldozing. Alfie, on the other hand, kept trying to mount her as well so I shooed him away to let Tozai enjoy his new friend. Alfie started going for tennis balls when I threw them right to him, and then he started bounding all around excitedly. Tozai and Alfie then raced and wrestled a bit with each other before we wrapped up our visit.
