Adventure Pack

Imogene and Arlo found a variety of sticks to chew up into pieces at Shanahan Ridge today. There was one stick in particular that Arlo found and was so please with that he had to lie down to get to work on it. Imogene immediately started pouncing all over and around him, expressing her envy over his apparently very impressive find. Meanwhile, Racer was following her nose beside the trail and needed to be dissuaded from snacking on some unsavory discoveries (poop). Griff just followed along in place behind me, not diverted by sticks or other temptations.

Variety Pack

Dylan, Tozai, Rey, and Carl headed to Valmont Dog Park for their afternoon outing. Carl entered the park with a ball already in mouth, so he wasn't barking his demands that a ball be located for him. Tozai and Rey immediately continued the wrestle session they had started at the house beforehand. Tozai has generally been very good about backing off and letting other dogs make moves to continue playing but he tends to try to steamroll his packmates. I suspect that is because he has played with them since he was younger and less built than he is now and he doesn't fully appreciate the fact that his packmates didn't grow with him, so he still goes full throttle with them. Rey usually wanted to keep playing, but there were a few times I interrupted because Tozai was just steamrolling her. A little later, he found a wrestle buddy in a Swiss Mountain Dog named Sebastian, and the two of them played great together for a long while. Meanwhile, Rey ran around with a bouncy, wiggle, fluffy white dog. Carl kept up his fetching. Dylan made rounds to all the different people and dogs. He was in a more mellow mood than his last park visit when he met that excited Golden Retriever mix that got him going.
