Adventure Pack
The trails were a bit busier than I expected given the wet snowfall. Lou set a very casual pace for the hike, but we didn't make a bunch of stops like the pack did yesterday. There was one little dog who was nervous about going past us until we moved off to the side of the trail. Tozai chased Lucy in big circles through the fields to either side of the trail. Her coat ended up pretty soaked from the combination of melting snow and Tozai drool. Lou's coat wasn't nearly as wet at the end of the hike, in lieu of the latter.
Variety Pack
Carl, Dylan, Alfie, Lumi, and Ruffers headed to Boulder Creek Path for a stroll in the snow. I thought Dylan might go for a roll in it, but I guess it was too wet for that to be a tempting proposition. Lumi likes to stretch out in the snow sometimes, but he also stayed upright on all fours the whole time. The Variety Pack members were much more interested in sniffing than their Adventure Pack counterparts were earlier in the day. Everybody gathered around shrubs, boulders, and tree trunks to check out the news. Carl looked pretty miserable with his coat all wet, but that had no impact on his dutiful adherence to his self-appointed sniffing and marking responsibilities. In addition to all the sniffing, Alfie was also very interested in the wildlife today and made moves towards geese and squirrels alike. Ruffers was actually participated the least in checking out scents, but she still joined in here and there when her packmates found something especially interesting.
