Adventure Pack

Lou, Yoshi, and Tozai all reveled in the water when we crossed the stream on our way up Mesa Trail, while Nelly patiently waited at the bank and then delicately picked her way across the stepping stones once her packmates were ready to move on. Tozai and Yoshi were pretty relentless in their rough-and-tumble play when I let them off leash, and were too wrapped up in it to respond when I called them, so that didn't last for very long. Nelly was in a grazing mood, so I did my best to keep her on the inside of the pack formation, but she kept jockeying for an outside spot with easier access to the greenery at the edge of the trail.

Variety Pack

Lucy was on high alert for anything that moves, as she often tends to be. Today, she spied a baby snake at the edge of the path on Bear Creek Greenway, in an underpass, right along the ditch water. She pounced in front of Alfie, who hadn't noticed it, and it slithered off rapidly enough to get airborne en route to the water. Milo, Lumi, Carl, and Ruffers all seemed as unaware as Alfie regarding the cause for the commotion. When the pack was lingering near the mile marker boulder by the basketball courts, Lumi lay down in about the same spot as yesterday. Carl and Alfie did some sniffing and marking. We came across an adult snake in the same underpass on the return leg, but I noticed it ahead of time and slowed the pack as it slithered into a drainage pipe.

Bonus Pack

Blu and Gidget enjoyed a. Blu was ravenous for the greenery - even more so than Nelly this morning, and by a good margin. By the end of the walk, he was starting to get tuckered out and didn't go for it as much. Meanwhile, Gidget trotted along in perfect sync. Despite some distant thunder, the rainclouds held their delivery.
