Adventure Pack
Yoshi, Tozai, Lou, and Nelly headed out across Chautauqua Meadow, stopping in shaded spots whenever we came by them. It was a hot, sunny day so each bit of respite was appreciated by the dogs. Everybody took water from the CamelBak. The trails were busy and a lot of hikers admired how calm and orderly everyone was. The heat no doubt played a role in tempering Yoshi and Tozai's normally boisterous and playful demeanors. Lou and Nelly are almost always pretty mellow, so it was routine for them.
Variety Pack
Tozai and Lumi got right into Boulder Creek at the beginning of our walk this afternoon. Carl just got his toes wet on the most shallowly covered step down to the water. Ruffers, Lucy, and Nelly all stayed dry. When we stopped at the creek again after walking for a while, Ruffers stepped into fairly deep water with Tozai and Lumi, but only with her front legs. Tozai and Lumi were both happy to stay in the creek for as long as I would let them. Meanwhile, Lucy got her paws wet with Carl in the shallows. Nelly still steered clear but took a drink from the CamelBak to cool off. Lucy was less intense about scanning the landscape for critters today. Carl was just as intent on getting his leash wrapped up with his packmates by mingling amongst them whenever they all stopped to sniff.
