Adventure Pack

Today's outing was all about practicing patience and self-control. Teo was the most in need of the lessons, but Lucy and Yoshi also stand to benefit from them. Teo did a better job around the bicycles today than yesterday, but he got very worked up about the few other dogs we saw along Boulder Creek Path and really melted down about one of them. Lucy and Yoshi were mostly doing great with just occasional checks when they got impatient and started trying to get ahead, although they both added their two cents when Teo freaked out about that one dog. Meanwhile, Lou did her best to provide her brother and the others with a shining example of calm composure. Nelly and Lou really enjoyed getting into the water when we made a pit stop at the creek. Yoshi was quick to get in and quick to get back out. Teo was wary of the water but eventually stepped into the shallows with some coaxing.

Variety Pack

Lumi and Carl were both sure that we were going to stop by the water at Eben G. Fine Park, but the stone steps were occupied. They resisted moving on much like Arlo did yesterday, but I assured them they would get to go in the water a little further along. When we did, they both got a good soak in. Yoshi was in and out of the water quickly again, like he was earlier in the day. Lumi was about to roll around in the dirt as soon as he got out of the water, but I got his attention and got the pack moving before he had the chance to make a total mess of himself. We actually covered more ground in a shorter walk than the Adventure Pack today, since there wasn't nearly as much behavioral management going on.
