Adventure Pack

Tozai and Bear were pretty mellow when they were off leash together on Mesa Trail today. They did a little bit of bumping and jostling with each other as they explored ahead, but they didn't break out into any chases or wrestling matches. Rey is healing with some stitches in her shoulder. Tozai and Rey were wrestling around and chewing on each other a bit in the packmobile. I kept their off-leash times separate so their roughhousing wouldn't interfere with the healing of Rey's stitched-up wound. Instead, she and Ruffers enjoyed some mellow roaming and sniffing together as they followed the rest of the pack from behind. On our way back, we came upon an unusual sighting: a butterfly chasing a bat around. The dogs didn't take notice, but I stopped to watch the strange event for a minute. They went on and on, and we eventually just moved along as they continued to fly around. Several minutes later, I heard a shriek in the distance, coming from back in the direction of the bat and butterfly; I suspect someone had a closer encounter with the bat than we did.

Variety Pack

Alfie, Lumi, Lou, Carl, and Dylan headed to Boulder Creek Path for their afternoon stroll. The path was pretty quiet today, but there were a few people at Eben G. Fine Park taking advantage of the warm, sunny weather. Carl made sure we stopped at all his favorite trees. Dylan and Alfie did their fair share of sniffing as well. Lumi and Lou were more discerning about which spots deserved their attentions. Everybody lined up politely and expectantly when it was time to dole out some treats and get a pack photo. It was so warm that it could have justified a dip in the creek, but instead we stayed dry for today.
