Adventure Pack
Griff hurried to the packmobile when I picked him up first today. Rey joined next, and was just as ready to go. When Arlo hopped into the packmobile, I saw him give Rey some kisses as he wagged his tail and smiled, excited for the day's adventure. Racer was also eager to hop in behind Arlo, but was less interested in offering tokens of affection to her packmates - she was just ready to get to the trail and start exploring. The pack enjoyed hiking at Chautauqua today. Griff has been more insistent on stopping to sniff and mark along the way, especially through the meadow. Arlo reliably follows up behind him, following his senior packmate's form in a way that makes it feel like tradition being passed down. Everybody walked very nicely together and stayed calm and orderly when we passed other dogs, even when those dogs barked at us.
Variety Pack
Carl interrupted a work meeting with his excited barks when I picked him up at his office today. Tozai greeted me with a gently chewed roll of duct tape. He hesitated to give it up but eventually accepted the trade in exchange for coming out with me. Nelly hopped in place when I arrived, while Lucy threw herself into the storm door to make absolutely sure she wasn't overlooked. The pack headed to Wonderland Lake, where some rabbits caught the attention of Tozai and Lucy. Nelly perked up at the sight of them as well, but was not as overcome with excitement as the other two. Carl didn't make any attempt to chase the rabbits, which are about as big as him.
