Adventure Pack
Our trip through Chautauqua Meadow was a bit swifter today as the pack only stopped to sniff around every so often. Rey and Griff led by a short distance while they were off leash together, checking out points of interest ahead of Arlo and Racer. We didn't see any turkeys today, or any other wildlife. Hikers were not in short supply, though. Rey got some attention from our OSMP volunteer friend Reid while her packmates were busy drinking water at the trail head. Rey was excited to drink the water as it flowed from the tap, but some went down the wrong pipe and she had a bit of a coughing fit. Racer also went for the flowing water and didn't have the same trouble as Rey.
Variety Pack
It took a while to find a tennis ball for Carl at Valmont Dog Park this afternoon. He followed me around with an expectant look until we finally did. Dylan and Lumi wandered off to sniff along the park perimeter. Tozai headed straight to the dogs at the center of the park to make new friends. He ended up wrestling around with a Bernese Mountain Dog named Riggins (sp?) while Carl was followed by Riggins' little sibling, Buster. Dylan and Lumi made their ways back over to the rest of us, and Lumi went on a big, long sprint around the area by himself. Tozai made another new friend in a young, black, female Great Dane who liked to wrestle around with exactly the same kind of energy as him. Lumi joined in with them here and there and sprinted around again. Meanwhile, Dylan hung out by my side while Carl continued to fetch. Carl wasn't that interested in the little dogs who came over to check him out, but Dylan greeted them with a wagging tail.
