Bonus Pack

Dylan, Mrs. Miggins, and Roger Roger went on the same stroll to Wonderland Lake as they did yesterday, at about the same pace as they did yesterday. I don't remember well enough to say if they stopped to sniff the same spots as they did yesterday, but it seems about right. One thing that was different from yesterday was that a very sweet, calm, friendly yellow Lab stopped to sniff hello with everyone, which was definitely the highlight of today's outing.

Adventure Pack

Griff, Rey, Racer, and Arlo headed back to Chautauqua today and hiked to the beginning of Royal Arch. Racer was right back to the ditch today, and I had to watch her closely as she sniffed because she paused a few times at some piles of poop and started licking her lips. Much like the pack earlier this morning, we also encountered a friendly Lab; however, this time it was a black Lab. Griff, Rey, and Arlo all happily sniffed hello, while Racer didn't bother with the pleasantries. There were some magpies in the field, close to the trail, as we crossed back toward Chautauqua Trail via Bluebell-Mesa. Rey used to pounce at nearby birds when she was young, but today she frolicked toward them with a playful bounce in her step and made no sudden dives to try to catch them when they scattered.

Variety Pack

Scarlet, Carl, Beard, Johnathan, and Tozai headed to Bear Creek Greenway this afternoon. We made a brief stop at the house before that. Scarlet used a chair to scale her way up on top of the kitchen table. She tends to be pretty skittish about imposing figures looming over her, but she dipped into a play-bow when Tozai walked by because she was actually at eye-to-eye height with him for once. Tozai walked by without reacting, and then Scarlet's table time came to an end. Johnathan, Carl, and Scarlet had a hard time figuring out who wanted to be where when we started our walk, but they eventually settled in a stable formation with Scarlet at my side, Carl to her far side, and Johnathan bring up the rear directly behind me. To my other side, Beard and Tozai had their deal pretty much set as soon as we moved on from the first tree-sniffing stop at Martin Park. That is a big step up for Beard, who once was so confused about how to walk on leash in a pack, that he actually started walking backwards while looking up as if to check for confirmation that he was doing it right.
