Adventure Pack

Griff, Dylan, and Arlo had a scent-marking competition during the first half of today's hike at the Chautauqua. They were so eager to out-do each other that they ended up getting caught in one another's crossfire a few times and had to be rinsed off with some water from the CamelBak. Racer kept out of the competition. She left her mark in various places as well but did so several feet away from the dicey action of her packmates. The drive to mark - and mark over each other's marks - petered out over the course of the hike. It was another cool day today, but with denser cloud cover and less wind, which made for pretty comfortable hiking.

Variety Pack

Buddy, Carl, and Dylan strolled around Wonderland Lake together this afternoon. Dense cloud cover still loomed, but it remained dry for the duration of our pack walk. There wasn't such a flurry of scent-marking as with the pack this morning, but we still made plenty of stops for the boys to sniff around and do their thing.

We kept pulling over to the side of the trail to let other dogs pass, because Buddy was getting a bit too worked up about them. Carl and Dylan were unbothered, and happy to just sniff around whenever we pulled off to the side.
