Adventure Pack

Racer, Rey, Griff, and Arlo were all very interested in grazing on the foliage around the stream along Saddle Rock Trail. The munched here and there while splashing through the water. As is often the case, Arlo also took the opportunity to lay in the water and get a good soak. We continued a bit further up the mountain, then turned around and headed back, making another brief stop at the stream. Rey was suddenly overcome with an extreme level of playful excitement, and started sprinting all over the mountainside. She and Arlo made some playful dodges with each other when she came over to him, whereas Griff and Racer just let their wild packmate do her thing.

Variety Pack

The pack had a new member today - Scarlett! Scarlett is officemates with Carl. She is a bit shy, so the two of them hung out in the front passenger seat of the packmobile together while the rest of the dogs were getting picked up and dropped off. Tozai was very curious about our new pack member, and poked his head up front to sniff hello and touch noses. Tozai - whose youthful enthusiasm sometimes gets the best of him - remained notably calm and mellow, and stayed that way throughout the afternoon. The others were content to lounge in the back and wait to make their greetings. We headed to the trails of CU South. Ruffers and Carl made for good hiking buddies beside Scarlett to one side of me, while Lumi, Tozai, and Dylan took the other side. The sun was out at first, which got Dylan panting pretty early on; but clouds soon returned to give us shade, which made Dylan happier. Still, he stopped to lay in a shallow stream we crossed. Lumi lingered over the stream for a moment and I thought he might join Dylan, but he decided to keep dry for once. It was a very pleasant afternoon, and a nice introduction to the pack for Scarlett!
