Adventure Pack

Arlo, Griff, Rey, and Racer headed up Red Rocks Trail under grey skies. Either Arlo heard faint, distant rumbles of thunder or he is just sensitive to the kind of weather that heralds it, because he was very hesitant to go up the mountain and kept rearing back. He didn't totally shut down the way he has done when there are nearby cracks of thunder or fireworks, and I was able to get him to keep going. Racer, Griff, and Rey were all happy to be hitting the trails for a change, since it was cool enough to go somewhere other than Boulder Creek Path. On the way back down the mountain, Griff and Rey wandered into the thick brush beside the solid-rock section of trail. Rey rejoined us when I called to them, but Griff went deeper in and I lost sight of him. I told Rey to go get Griff and she gave me an excited look but then she just took a couple steps before stopping. I encouraged her on, but she made it clear she wasn't going to be a herder. Griff eventually popped out further down the trail and then backtracked to meet us.

Variety Pack

A thunderstorm threatened but never transpired as Buddy, Tozai, Yoshi, and Lumi strolled Bear Creek Greenway this afternoon. The prairie dogs were bustling about more than I think I've ever seen. Yoshi was apparently quietly focused on them when we pulled up to park, because he bolted the instant I cracked the car door open; however, he only ran to the edge of the parking lot. He then turned right around and returned to me so I could leash him up. Meanwhile, the others all remained chill in the packmobile. Once we were walking, nobody tried to go after the prairie dogs - not even Yoshi - even though they were running everywhere, crossing the path ahead and behind us, and chirping away. Buddy enjoyed shouldering down in the grass when we stopped on the small hill that Lumi always makes sure to pull over at. While Buddy was busy doing that, Lumi, Tozai, and Yoshi all sniffed and marked the same bush in turn.
