Griff, Racer, Arlo, and Imogene headed to Mesa Trail at Chautauqua today. Arlo really wanted to just hang out in the stream at the switchback, but I kept the pack moving. Griff had a noticeable limp in his gait when he was walking slowly, but it faded when he got into a trot. We paused at the stream on our way back. Racer and Arlo both took a drink. After a minute, Imogene came over to the water and sniffed at it but opted not to have any. Griff just waited on the trail ahead, ready to keep going.

Variety Pack

Tozai went from new friend to new friend at Valmont Dog Park this afternoon. I was on the move a lot tracking him, Alfie, and Lumi, who were all heading off in different directions and too caught up in their interests to bother coming back when I called to them. Dylan kept up with me the whole time, often trotting to keep pace right by me. Carl did the same, while carrying his tennis ball. Carl didn't track the ball very well when I threw it today, and often ended up just barking at me until I went and pointed it out to him. Lumi burst out into a full-on sprint a couple times. One time, he was trying to get Alfie to chase him, but Alfie was immediately distracted by a couple new dogs entering the park. Another time, Lumi caught the interest of another dog who joined to chase him. Alfie ran around with a couple dogs. He got too amorously interested in a dog who spent a long time wrestling around with Tozai, and kept inserting himself into their play in the rudest of ways. After the third time Alfie mounted her, I put him on leash for a while until he cooled his jets.
