Adventure Pack
The pack was again extremely interested in the scents to be found in the ditch beside Bluebell Road today, and Racer was again the most insistent that we stop to sniff every few feet. It is interesting that the Tuesday/Thursday packs are so preoccupied with that ditch, while the Monday/Wednesday/Friday packs hardly ever stop to check it out. Once we got past that and up to Mesa Trail, it was pretty quiet as we kept a steady pace. Racer and Arlo made a brief stop at the stream. No bats there today, but we did see a chipmunk. Arlo perked up a little, but I don't think the others noticed it. Imogene snatched up some bits of wood here and there and chomped on them as she walked, like a farm kid chewing on a wheat stalk. Griff had a little stiffness to his gait but kept up ok.
Variety Pack
Tozai, Milo, Lumi, Carl, and Dylan headed to Goose Creek Greenway this afternoon. Tozai was more interested in the prairie dogs than usual. The rest of the pack didn't pay them any mind. Lumi was more curious about the ducks swimming in the pond that we pass by when the path meets up with Boulder Creek Path. Milo was seeming a little stiff yesterday after the hike, but he seemed to be feeling a bit looser today. Dylan appreciated the cooler weather and had good energy as he trotted along without asking for any pauses beyond our occasional pack pit stops to sniff around. Carl just trotted along right in place beside Dylan, keeping formation, as Tozai, Milo, and Lumi took the other flank.
