Adventure Pack

Arlo was stubborn about not wanting to go anywhere at the beginning of our hike through the Chautauqua Meadow again today. As I was working to get Arlo moving again, Imogene got into a playful mood and started bouncing around him, which helped get him going. Once we got to the stream at the base of Saddle Rock Trail, Arlo wanted to remain in the water for as long as possible while Imogene and Racer splashed around him a bit. We then headed up Gregory Canyon, and everybody kept on the move for a steady ascent. The sun was out on our return leg through the meadow, and everyone was happy to stop and take some water.

Variety Pack

Carl and Racer walked around Wonderland Lake this afternoon. Lumi and Arlo were going to join them, but ended up sitting out - Lumi, because he had some digestive troubles and seemed to have no energy for a walk; Arlo, because there was some distant thunder that convinced him the only place to be was hiding downstairs at the house. Carl and Racer enjoyed their stroll. With fewer packmates to compete with, Carl only felt the need to stop and mark a few spots along the way. The storm clouds actually made for pleasant walking weather, since the rain held off.
