Adventure Pack
On our way up the trail from The Peoples' Crossing, we came upon a retaining wall of block stacked up about 4-4.5 feet high. Griff, Arlo, and Imogene all followed me up the narrow dirt path beside the wall. Racer decided to try to scale it. She was unsuccessful on her first attempt, but undaunted. She went for another go, which was equally as hopeless for even some of the spryest dogs I can think of. After attempt number two, she gave in and took the dirt path beside the wall. She was go-go-go throughout the hike up Anemone Trail, while Arlo was lagging a bit. Imogene and Griff enjoyed some off-leash exploring, and didn't wander off too far.
Variety Pack
Dylan, Carl, Lou, Tozai, Sanni, and Teo walked Goose Creek Greenway this afternoon with a hand from Jen. Even though the prairie dogs were out, chirping at us, the dogs didn't react to them. Teo was a bit triggered by the many bicyclists that went by - and tried to dart toward a few of them - but he settled quickly, and let many more go by with just a bit of whining. Sanni pulled ahead when she was walking to the outside of Tozai, but she kept on pace when I had her move to the inside of Tozai, next to me. Tozai served as a reliable anchor in the formation. Lou stopped whenever her group with Jen got ahead my group, because she didn't want to leave us behind. Dylan kept up great today. The only time he stopped was when a scent caught his interest and he veered hard off to the side of the path to check it out. When we stopped for a pack photo and everybody was getting into position on a grassy hillside, Carl suddenly took notice of a large, dark leaf in the grass, and stared at it for a while with an amusing degree of wariness before we were able to refocus him and get the photo of everyone.
