Adventure Pack

With a nice break in the heat, Racer, Imogene, and Arlo went for a mountain hike instead of sticking to Boulder Creek. Some hikers commented on how nicely behaved they all were as they politely pulled to the side of the trail with me so the other hikers could pass. A young boy among them stopped and asked permission to say hello, and the dogs all happily received pets from him. After that, they made friends with an Australian Shepherd on the Red Rocks Trail. They all made a couple rounds of sniffing hello with each other before we moved on. Then, on the way back down from the red rock formation, we came upon a skunk at the edge of the trail. The skunk froze and stared at us with his tail up, and the dogs remained calm as we gave it a wide berth, and I snapped a photo of it as it turned and went to hide under a boulder. Luckily, we didn't get sprayed!

Variety Pack

Carl, Kona, Tozai, and Alfie headed to Bear Creek Greenway this afternoon. Tozai and Alfie were in a hurry to get to the near tree at Martin Park when they first hopped out of the packmobile, and both marked it. Carl followed up and did the same, while Kona poked around the grass nearby. Later on in the hike, we came upon a big buck on the far side of a field. None of the dogs really reacted, but Tozai kept his eyes on it as I got a pack photo.
