Adventure Pack
Racer, Rey, Arlo, and Griff all wanted to take it slow on today's hike. We inched our way through Chautauqua Meadow. We made a lot of stops as the dogs wanted to sniff around, but even when we weren't stopped, the pack crawled along at a snail's pace. We eventually made it to Gregory Canyon and went a short way up the trail before turning around. There were a couple fresh bear droppings, confirming the ongoing activity in the area.
Variety Pack
Tozai, Nelly, Lucy, Dylan, and Carl headed to Goose Creek Greenway this afternoon. Tozai enjoyed wrestling with Rey at the house before we headed out. Once the walk started, the skies were grey, and a light sprinkle began about halfway through the walk. Nelly immediately started shaking water off at the first hint of droplets; the others weren't bothered. Dylan appreciated the overcast weather and had no trouble keeping pace. Lucy was very interested in the prairie dogs and rabbits who roamed the adjacent fields, and then the ducks who were swimming in Cottonwood Lake. When we stopped for treats and picture time, between the wildlife and the smells to be sniffed, everyone was pretty distracted; however, Carl immediately became 100% focused on me the moment I said the magic word. For everyone else, I had to keep tapping shoulders and calling names until I (mostly) got their attentions.
