Adventure Pack
Tozai, Ruffers, Nelly, and Bear made the most of the occasional shade trees the dot the Chautauqua Meadow Trail. When we made it to Gregory Canyon, we didn't make so many stops, since the whole lower part of the trail is pretty well shaded. Bear was the only one to lie down in the shade. Everybody drank a lot of water. There was a loud crack of brush underfoot, somewhere up ahead at one point along Gregory Canyon Trail, and I wonder whether it was a bear passing through the area - especially since no hikers came through afterwards.
Variety Pack
Alfie, Lumi, Carl, and Griff headed to Bear Creek Greenway for the afternoon. It was very quiet, with fewer bicyclists than usual on the path. Carl and Griff spent an especially long time sniffing one spot by the trail marker boulders, while Alfie and Lumi both moved on after giving the area a quick once-over. There were a couple trees that got the full treatment of sniffing and marking from the entire pack.
