Adventure Pack
The poppies and bluebells are in bloom, which made for a beautiful backdrop to the pack's hike through the Chautauqua Meadow today. When we crossed the stream at the base of Saddle Rock Trail today, Nelly got about halfway on stepping stones, paused for a long moment to weigh her options, then leapt the remaining half of way to the opposite bank, with a foot or two to spare. Ruffers lingered in the water for a minute after Tozai and Bear splashed their ways through. On the way back down, Nelly readily decided to wade through the water rather than attempt any acts of balance and acrobatics.
Variety Pack
Storm clouds threatened and lightning flashed in the distance as Buddy, Lumi, Griff, Carl, and Alfie headed to Boulder Creek Path for their afternoon stroll. The storm ended up passing south of us; we only got a bit of wind and a brief, light sprinkle, which we waited out while under the canopy of a big tree. The dogs skipped sniffing the trees in Eben G. Fine Park on our way out, but were eager to check out the first two we passed when we returned on our way back. Carl, Lumi, and Alfie gave them very thorough treatment, while Griff and Buddy just checked things out briefly and then stood by.
