Wednesday Pack Activities

Adventure Pack

Dylan and Avo both made a couple stops to lie in the grass at Eben G. Fine Park before we got to The Peoples' Crossing. Once we were on the mountain, they both went up ahead to get to the stream as soon as possible. A couple passing joggers laughed at Avo's exuberance in bounding in and out of the water. Ruffers and Sputnik were more steady in the heat. They didn't call for any stops on the way, and they took their time getting into the water. But once they were in, they lingered there for a longer time than their packmates. We didn't go all the way up the mountain today, and instead spent the latter part of the outing walking along the shaded Boulder Creek Path. There were no geese around this morning, and the pavement seemed pretty well cleared of their droppings.

Variety Pack

The pack headed to the Bear Creek Greenway this afternoon, with some cloud cover helping to keep it a bit cooler. Imogene got playful with Rey near the end of the walk, but it was nothing compared to how much Archie wanted to play with her. They had some fun at the house before the walk, and Archie had a hard time accepting that there is a time and a place for wrestling and rough-housing, and there is a time and place for walking. Racer wasn't pulling as much today as she has been on recent outings, which was nice. I think she had been feeling some competition with Kona to try to be in the lead. Lou kept pace the whole time today, without insisting on any sudden stops. She pulled over to sniff a couple times, and did it in a less stubborn manner that was easy to accommodate. Archie and Racer were quick to join in the sniffing, while Imogene and Rey were more nonchalant.
