Adventure Pack

Ruffers was back to being lead scent finder on our hike today, with Tozai closely following her discoveries. Bear and Rey tended to be a little slower to join in the sniff party but always checked things out as well. We took cover under a tree in Chautauqua Meadow when the light sprinkles turned into a brief rain shower. After that, Tozai poked at Rey while she tried to stand her ground and defend her position. I interrupted whenever Tozai started steamrolling, as he tends to do more with his packmates than with the new friends he makes at the dog park. Bear wasn't reading the balance of the dynamic very well and kept trying to mount Rey when she came close by rather than directing his energies into distracting Tozai. Ruffers did not partake in the commotion.

Variety Pack

Lucy, Lou, Carl, Nelly, and Yoshi walked Bear Creek Greenway this afternoon. It was a pleasant stroll with little activity. That didn't stop Lucy from intently scanning the landscape for rodents. If she saw any, they were far enough away that she didn't make any attempts to pursue them. Meanwhile, the rest of the pack trotted along happily in formation with Yoshi beside Lucy, Carl and Nelly at my other side, and Lou bringing up the rear as usual. The clouds did not bring sprinkles this afternoon, but they did provide a nice shield from the heat of the sun.
