Adventure Pack

The pack took their time on Baseline Trail today, as they all made plenty of stops to sniff the damp earth. I myself picked up a scent at the base of Bluebell-Baird Trail that I think had to have been a nearby bear. The dogs didn't react, but I found the scent pretty overpowering. Arlo, Griff, and Imogene were stopping to sniff so often at other points along the way that I think Racer - uncharacteristically - actually did the least sniffing of the group. In addition to the sniffing, Arlo entertained himself by chewing on damp pinecones. He went through a few on our way up the mountain. On the way down Bluebell Road, Imogene jumped around Arlo and jabbed and mouthed at his neck, much like how Tozai did with his packmates yesterday; Arlo didn't react to the harassment.

Variety Pack

Griff, Nelly, Carl, Lucy, and Tozai strolled Bear Creek Greenway this afternoon. Lucy, Nelly, Carl, and Tozai all whined and woofed at a Golden Retriever they could see playing fetch in Martin Park when we first pulled into the parking lot. Griff just lay at the back of the packmobile and took it easy until we all unloaded for the walk. The Golden Retriever left before the pack was on the move. We had a pleasant outing without any notable happenings - just the usual pauses for sniffing and peeing every so often along the way.
