Adventure Pack

Carl led the way up Anemone Trail with a spirit of adventure, forging ahead and checking over his shoulder every so often to see if the rest of us were keeping up. Tozai and Rey hiked on leash at my sides on the way out. Meanwhile, Bear was lagging far behind the rest of the pack, taking his time to sniff and then ambling along in no hurry, the way he had gotten used to doing when Ruffers hiked with him. Tozai and Rey did some wrestling on our way back down, when they had off-leash time together. Tozai was doing a bit better about inviting Rey to get him, rather than just tackling her and pressing forward relentlessly. Rey showed her appreciation by pursuing Tozai in some short bursts of chase.

Variety Pack

Teo, Alfie, and Lou headed to Bear Creek Greenway for their afternoon stroll. Teo was surprisingly chill about all the prairie dogs around, and Alfie kept his cool better as well. They were both alert but nobody barked or lunged. Lou, of course, just trotted in place at my side, a step behind me, the dutiful follower she always is. Bicyclists got Teo more worked up, and he pulled toward a few of the many that went by, but he didn't have any total meltdowns, and he sat politely most of the time as they passed.
