Thursday Pack Activities (10/17/2024)
Adventure Pack
Griff, Rey, Arlo, and Racer enjoyed the cool, cloudy weather as we hiked the Chautauqua today. Racer stopped for a long while at one bush in particular, and Arlo joined her to investigate. I saw a wet sheen on some of the leaves by where they were sniffing, which tipped me off that another animal - probably another dog - had marked that spot. I wonder whether Racer and Arlo were interested just because of the marking, or whether there was some underlying curiosity there that caused it to be marked in the first place. Meanwhile, Griff and Rey were roaming up ahead of us, enjoying some off-leash time together.
Variety Pack
Dylan grumbled while Lucy went nuts greeting him in the packmobile before he had even hopped in. Once in, Dylan turned to Nelly and gave her a kiss. He then turned to Lucy and stood in place, allowing her to lick his face without complaining any more about the attention. They all headed to Goose Creek Greenway this afternoon along with Lumi, Carl, and Lou. It was a nice walk, with clouds and a high around 70 feeling like quite a relief after the summer we had. Many prairie dogs were out and about, catching the attentions of Lucy, Nelly, Carl, and Lumi. Lucy and Nelly pulled a bit, and Nelly whined, while Carl and Lumi just watched them. Dylan and Lou trucked along in place, unconcerned with the prairie dog activity.
