Adventure Pack

We came by a herd of deer crossing Bluebell-Baird Trail today. Rey started to run after them, but stopped and turned back after a few dozen yards. Griff was off leash, but treated the deer with the same indifference as the rabbits in his yard. Racer, Arlo, and Rey all took water from the CamelBak, but Griff was happy with just a treat and he passed on the water I offered afterwards. The contrast between Racer's drinking technique and her brother Arlo's made for a good laugh.

Variety Pack

Tozai found so many new friends at the Valmont Dog Park today. There was one in particular who was especially obsessed with him and kept trying to mount him whenever Tozai became distracted with another dog. When he had Tozai's attention, the two of them wrestled on and on until they ended up lying down in front of each other so they could keep chewing each other's faces without having to stand up. At one point, Tozai got so many dogs worked up chasing him and poking at him for attention that I stepped in to calm everyone down. Meanwhile, Dylan was loosely following me around while saying hello to nearby dogs and humans. He didn't join in any of Tozai's chases, but he did go check out some of the other dogs while Tozai was wrestling with them. Carl found a fetching partner who beat him to the ball sometimes. The Aussie was kind enough to drop the ball some distance from me so Carl could have the honor of bringing it the rest of the way back.
