Tuesday Pack Activities (11/5/2024)
Adventure Pack
The snow that was on the trails yesterday was mostly melted as Imogene, Griff, Arlo, and Racer hiked the Flatiron Loop. There were more cars parked at the Chautauqua, but the trails seemed more empty today than yesterday. On our way down the mountain, we saw two Huskies come around a bend a short distance ahead while Griff and Imogene were leading the way off leash. The two of them did an incredibly good job of ignoring the whines and whimpers of the on-leash Huskies, and came back to me, Racer, and Arlo. Everyone got lots of treats to celebrate the job well done, as the Huskies continued on by us.
Variety Pack
Archie, Alfie, Carl, Bear, and Dylan walked Goose Creek Greenway from Valmont Park as a chill wind moved in. Along the way, Archie and Alfie were drawn intensely to a patch of grass beside the path, and both moved decisively with their noses to the ground. Dylan, Carl, and Bear were all pretty quick to follow, and the boys all spent several minutes getting every ounce of olfactory information they could gather about the area. After his packmates were satisfied, Alfie was still working hard on the case. He and Archie made another stop a short while later, but it wasn't as big of a hit as the first location they had uncovered.
