Adventure Pack

Sputnik tried to get Rucksack to chase him around as we hiked at the Chautauqua this morning. Rucksack entertained him with some half-hearted runs, but he made no real attempt to keep up when Sputnik bolted away at full speed. When Coco and Rucksack were off leash together, they just sniffed around off the side of the trail. We passed a kindly old woman to whom Rucksack was drawn. When she gave him a pet, Sputnik threw her an expectant look and she said, "OK, I guess I'll just pet every one of you!" Coco was next in line, and then Mamacita followed up to receive her due.

Variety Pack

Stella did a very good job keeping up on our walk along the Boulder Creek Path this afternoon. She wanted to stop to mark the ground every so often. The rest of the pack didn't mind taking the breaks to sniff around. We came upon a goose who had settled immediately adjacent to the foot path by the kids' fishing pond and who didn't seem likely to yield the ground, so we switched over to the paved path a bit farther away. Griff, Zoey, and Roger Roger all kept a close eye on the goose as we went by, and the goose stood and stared us down. Coco and Stella didn't seem to want any part of it. Once we were past, the dogs broke their gaze and the goose sat back down.
