There was a downed pine branch on the way to Royal Arch, about which Racer, Lou, Griff, and Arlo were all very curious. We made a brief stop in the stream but the dogs were ok with not lingering long. They stopped to sniff hello with a couple different dogs along the way. One started to grumble a bit as Griff and Arlo flanked him, which got Griff and Arlo to make a bit of a fuss in response. The other dog we met had a more relaxed demeanor, and seemed to want to follow the pack rather than continue on with his human.

Variety Pack

Carl was very excited to return to the Valmont Dog Park this afternoon, and let me know about it as soon as we entered. He barked and barked and jumped on my leg, seemingly expecting me to produce a tennis ball. Meanwhile, Milo headed off to sniff around the park and say hello to other dogs. Once we did find an unclaimed tennis ball, Carl was off to the races and kept fetching for the rest of our visit. Milo made friends with a mostly-white dog with black splotches, and the two of them hopped around together a bit when Milo wasn't too busy sniffing all over the place.
