Wednesday Pack Activities
Adventure Pack
Icy snow pack is still lingering on the incline at Shanahan Ridge, so we took our time on the way up and the way back down. Other than the stretch of tricky terrain, we had a pretty easy hike. Sputnik has been pulling over to leave scent marks less and less as the week has gone on. Ruffers, Mamacita, and Curie did a bit of sniffing around, but only when I brought the pack off the side of the trail. On the return leg of our hike, Curie had a couple moments of spastic energy which she expressed by spinning and jumping around. Her second burst of energy caught Sputnik's attention, and he made a couple playful moves with her before I got them both on course again.
Variety Pack
The sky was gray as the pack set out for our walk along the Bear Creek Path this afternoon. We only crossed paths with one other dog along the way. I brought the pack well off the path in order to mitigate the reactions of Poppy and Rey in particular, since they have a tendency to jump around excitedly when another dog goes by. The distance was enough to keep Rye calm. Poppy was bristling with excitement, but managed to keep it contained. Sensing the giddy tension from his packmates, Milo - who usually doesn't make a fuss about other dogs - let out a woof. Dylan, Zoey, and Roger Roger all stayed chill. Aside from that one interruption, the pack all walked together pretty nicely today. Dylan, Rey, and Poppy shifted positions with each other throughout, but nobody really tried to pull ahead.
