Bonus Pack

Dylan, Milo, Lumi, Blu, and Gidget went for another neighborhood stroll. It was already nearing 80 F, so Dylan and Blu were panting pretty heavily by the end. Milo, Lumi, and Gidget were less impacted by the heat. We made it to the park today, but didn't walk all the way through it, and lingered in some shady spots along the way. The whole pack made friends with a sweet dog named Auggie who came over to sniff hello with everyone early on. Another dog came over and greeted the pack when we had stopped for a photo in the park, but I didn't catch their name.

Adventure Pack

Griff, Arlo, Racer, and Rey hiked the Chautauqua Meadow today. We headed to Gregory Canyon in the hopes of hitting the stream there, but it was dry. We just hung out in the shade around there a bit before continuing on. Despite there being a lot of hikers out, and seeing some dogs in the distance, we didn't cross paths with any furry friends. Arlo had wanted to turn back early on, as if he had heard thunder or fireworks in the distance, but he settled into hiking on after a couple brief bouts of hesitation. Racer veered over to the side of the trail and sniffed her way along there for much of the time. Griff and Rey just trotted on pace with me throughout the hike.

Variety Pack

Carl, Bear, Tozai, Teo, Alfie, and Lou walked Goose Creek Greenway this afternoon. Despite being in the sun, it actually felt slightly cooler than on the Adventure Pack hike earlier in the day. Teo was curious about the first squeaking prarie dog we saw from the parking lot, but he paid less attention to the others we passed by, even when they were closer. Alfie didn't react to the prairie dogs today, nor did the rest of the pack. It was as if they all realized that Teo is a handful on his own and they were all on their best behavior to help make things more manageable. The nearby pond was full of ducks, many of whom were quacking away as we walked by. That caught Teo's attention more than the prairie dogs did. There were lots of bicyclists out. Teo tried to lunge at a few even though we had pulled off the side of the path to give some distance, but mostly he just tensed up and pulled a bit as they went by. Again, all the other pack members just followed in formation and didn't react to any of the wildlife or other possible distractions - just a bit of sniffing here and there.
