Monday Pack Activities

Adventure Pack

We only made one trip up the mountain at Settlers Park, and then made our way back toward Eben G. Fine. A rainstorm started up during our descent, and we took temporary shelter in the underpass between the parks, until the rain subsided. Ruffers, Clover, Riley, and Sputnik had all gotten pretty wet. Clover had already gotten a good soak in Farmers Ditch, when she lay down in it and sort of army-crawled along the ditch bed, approximating swimming in the shallow water. The rain passed after a few minutes, and we continued our walk along the Boulder Creek Path.

Variety Pack

The sky was cloudy, so I thought it would be a good opportunity to take the pack to the Chautauqua Meadow and let the dogs enjoy some off-leash time there. Zoey and Rey got to roam untethered, while Carl and Lou stayed on leash with me. Unfortunately, the sun came back out a short way into our hike, and the dogs quickly became hot and tired, out in the open. We made our way over to the Chautauqua Park, where big trees provide a nice shaded buffer around the perimeter, and the dogs all took a load off in the cooler grass. We slowly made our way around and back to the packmobile, to call it an afternoon.
