Thursday Pack Activities (3/12/2026)
Adventure Pack Rey and Griff scouted ahead with calm and alert demeanors as we trekked Kohler Mesa today. They came back readily when I called them, and everyone waited patiently as I doled out treats. Everyone was being so good as some other on-leash dogs passed by on the trail, so they all got another round of treats. Racer and Arlo paused at the stream to take a drink on the way back down from the mesa. Rey and Griff weren't as thirsty. Variety Pack Our entrance to the Val

Wednesday Pack Activities (3/11/2026)
Adventure Pack Bear and Tozai wrestled around together a lot during our Mesa Trail hike today. By the end of the hike, they were both pretty wet with each other's slobber. The girls, in contrast, were very mild-mannered. Ruffers enjoyed nibbling on snow here and there; Nelly preferred drinking from the stream we crossed. The both just hiked quietly along the trail with me while the boys mixed it up. Variety Pack Dylan wanted to stick close to Martin Park on our afternoon walk

Tuesday Pack Activities (2/10/2026)
Adventure Pack Racer wanted to give the trail head a very thorough once-over at the start of our Chautauqua hike today. Then, after we headed back to the waste bins to make a deposit, she wanted to give the same spots a thorough twice-over. The rest of the pack also happily sniffed around the area, but Racer was definitely the one leading the diversion. Arlo whined at the first dog we passed on the trail, trying to will the dog to come play with him. When that didn't pan out,

Monday Pack Activities (3/9/2026)
Adventure Pack Tozai and Bear were pretty mellow when they were off leash together on Mesa Trail today. They did a little bit of bumping and jostling with each other as they explored ahead, but they didn't break out into any chases or wrestling matches. Rey is healing with some stitches in her shoulder. Tozai and Rey were wrestling around and chewing on each other a bit in the packmobile. I kept their off-leash times separate so their roughhousing wouldn't interfere with the

Friday Pack Activities (3/6/2026)
Adventure Pack The trails were a bit busier than I expected given the wet snowfall. Lou set a very casual pace for the hike, but we didn't make a bunch of stops like the pack did yesterday. There was one little dog who was nervous about going past us until we moved off to the side of the trail. Tozai chased Lucy in big circles through the fields to either side of the trail. Her coat ended up pretty soaked from the combination of melting snow and Tozai drool. Lou's coat wasn't

Thursday Pack Activities (3/5/2026)
Adventure Pack Carl joined Griff, Racer, and Arlo for the hike at Chautauqua today. It took a while to really get moving, because the dogs were all extremely curious about the smells around the trail head. Racer kept stopping every five paces or so, to pull over and check out a scent. Carl was quick to join her every time. Arlo and Griff found their own points of interest as they waited on their packmates, then left their marks and kicked up some dirt. We went through this ro

Wednesday Pack Activities (3/4/2026)
Adventure Pack Tozai and Bear sniffed around together a bit before they started wrestling around on the trails today. Nelly and Ruffers stuck to sniffing and kept entirely out of the roughhousing. We lingered in some spots as Ruffers wanted to take her time to take in the scents. The pack was greeted by a couple different dogs along the way, who came up for a sniff as they passed by. Tozai pulled to try to close the gap faster and then kept looking over his shoulder to watch

Tuesday Pack Activities (3/3/2026)
Adventure Pack Arlo took notice of a herd of deer in the woods just as we made our way up the hill to Mesa Trail. Racer and Imogene didn't see the deer, but their noses were drawn to the edge of the trail where they had just crossed. Griff didn't seem to notice them at all. On the return leg, Arlo was on the lookout for the deer as we passed through that stretch of trail again. Racer and Imogene again started to sniff around. Griff remained either oblivious or disinterested.

Wednesday Pack Activities (2/25/2026)
Adventure Pack The wind and clouds kept the trails at Shanahan Ridge pretty empty as Bear, Ruffers, Tozai, and Lucy enjoyed their hike. A light smattering of rain came and went a couple times, but it was barely enough to notice. Lucy kept close to the pack when she and Tozai first went off leash, until Tozai stopped stalking her and gave her a little more space. Then, they ran around and explored together. Bear and Ruffers brought up the rear when they were off leash together

Tuesday Pack Activities (2/24/2026)
Adventure Pack After some early pit (poop) stops, the pack kept steadily on the move at Shanahan Ridge today. With the sun out and the temperature nearing 70F, Racer, Imogene, Griff, and Arlo were all interested in a drink from the CamelBak. Arlo, Imogene, and Racer took seconds, while Griff's thirst was slaked after round one. There were no sticks sought or flaunted today, and no breaks taken to follow after scents. The dogs were happy just getting the steps in. Variety Pack
