Friday Pack Activities (12/5/2025)
Adventure Pack Lou and Nelly were keen spectators of Yoshi and Tozai's rowdy off-leash play in the snow. When they came near, Nelly leapt and dodged all around, and she and Yoshi exchanged a couple chest-butts. Lou was very interested in the commotion but didn't contribute to it. Despite their excitement, Yoshi and Tozai settled down a bit to sniff hello with a friendly, older Golder Retriever we came by. Nelly and Lou also got some sniffs in when we caught up to them. Variet

Thursday Pack Activities (12/4/2025)
Adventure Pack Racer initiated countless stops on our way up Bluebell Road today. The snow, by its yellow coloring, provided a good visual indicator as to what drew her attention - a detail for which I usually have to use my imagination in order to fill in the blank. Rey led the way up the trail, with Griff often splitting the difference between her and the rest of the pack. Arlo and Rey were both very excited to see our OSMP volunteer friend Reid, who noted that he had to go

Wednesday Pack Activities (12/3/2025)
Adventure Pack Tozai and Bear bounded through the snow together, pausing only to wrestle around with each other. Later on, Lucy and Bear frolicked together in the snow as sniffed on spot then the next; they didn't rough-house with each other the way Bear had done with Tozai. After that, Ruffers and Lucy roamed through the snow together while Bear and Tozai were back on leash. Ruffers kept up closer to the pack than usual, probably in part because the rest of us were moving mo

Tuesday Pack Activities
Adventure Pack Racer, Imogene, Griff, and Arlo enjoyed the mostly-empty trails at Chautauqua today. Racer wandered into the brush at the edge of the trail numerous times and often back-tracked a bit. The rest of the pack would then follow her into the weeds to poke around. Griff and Arlo both kicked up a lot of dirt and grass after marking points of interest. Imogene and Arlo got playful and hopped around with each other a bit toward the end of the hike. Variety Pack Dylan wa

Monday Pack Activities (12/1/2025)
Adventure Pack Rey and Tozai bounded up and down Ski Jump Trail together on our chilly midday hike. Bear was feeling playful today and pounced at his packmates when they came close. When he was off leash with Ruffers later in the hike, he was more mellow and just sniffed around. He was leading the way at first but then he fell behind whilst sniffing some point of interest near the branch point between the flatiron trails. I ended up back-tracking to gather him up as he was ve

Thursday Pack Activities (11/20/2025)
Adventure Pack We came by a herd of deer crossing Bluebell-Baird Trail today. Rey started to run after them, but stopped and turned back after a few dozen yards. Griff was off leash, but treated the deer with the same indifference as the rabbits in his yard. Racer, Arlo, and Rey all took water from the CamelBak, but Griff was happy with just a treat and he passed on the water I offered afterwards. The contrast between Racer's drinking technique and her brother Arlo's made for

Wednesday Pack Activities (11/19/2025)
Adventure Pack The pack headed to Chautauqua today. Nelly wandered into the tall grass to poke around while Ruffers took her time sniffing at the edge of the trail. Tozai and Bear both sniffed a bit, left their marks, then moved along. Tozai playfully tackled Bear a couple times, and Bear shuffled him off. Bear couldn't be convinced to chase or get into more of a wrestling match today. Variety Pack Carl, Lumi, Griff, and Alfie hit the trails at CU South this afternoon. We enc

Tuesday Pack Activities (11/18/2025)
Adventure Pack Arlo hopped into the packmobile with such excited energy that he drew a grumble from Griff, who has a penchant for bossing around wild puppies. Usually, Griff accepts Arlo's sniffs and face licks without complaint, but I guess it was just a little too much today. When we hit the trail, Racer set a stop-and-go pace as she wanted to investigate many scents along the way. The pack didn't notice a herd of deer up the mountain that was traveling the same game trail

Monday Pack Activities (11/17/2025)
Adventure Pack Rey and Bear poked around in the brush at the edge of the Ski Jump Trail and Bluebell-Baird. Meanwhile, Tozai was watching their every move with keen interest. Ruffers was more interested in following her own nose, pausing to sniff around at the spots that caught her interest. When Tozai had his turn off leash a bit later, he mostly just hovered around Rey and tried to get her attention by poking at her; and when everyone was back on leash together at the end o

Friday Pack Activities (11/14/2025)
Adventure Pack There was a trodden path through the tall grass, which intersected Ski Jump Trail. Nelly and Yoshi were drawn to the apparent game trail and started sniffing their way up it. They were disappointed when I stopped them from pursuing it further and had them return to the regular trail with Tozai and Lou, who were not as allured by the scents as their packmates. Chautauqua was bustling today. Tozai and Yoshi enjoyed some off-leash rough-housing time when we got to
