Thursday Pack Activities

Adventure Pack

Sputnik and Griff roamed off leash together at the Chautauqua this morning, in between passing by other dogs along the way. We saw one friendly and submissive dog who looked like an Australian Shepherd but with the round head and coloring of a Bernese Mountain Dog. Carl was the only one really interested in pausing to say hello, while Racer, Sputnik, and Griff just walked on by. The trails were moderately busy throughout the hike - even on the Mesa Trail, which is usually one of the less-traversed routes.

Variety Pack

Avo, Mamacita, Zoey, and Lizzo headed to Boulder Creek for our walk this afternoon. It was a little breezier than it had been in the morning, but only on and off. Zoey and Mamacita were insistent on stopping to sniff around Eben G. Fine Park for a bit. Avo was in a particularly rambunctious mood. She mounted Zoey several times with no reaction from Zoey. She gnawed at her leash at one point - a habit I thought she had grown out of. And she play-bowed and dodged around with Lizzo, who was an enthusiastic partner in the shenanigans. It may be my imagination, but I think Avo's poised stance in today's pack photo captures her willful and defiant mood quite well. It looks to me almost likes she's awaiting the response to a dare. Lizzo's goofy puppy energy is also well-reflected, while Mamacita and Zoey look appropriately laid-back.
