Tuesday Pack Activities

Adventure Pack

Griff was more on alert today than usual. At one point, when he noticed a dog and some people on the trail up ahead, he perked up and stared at them until they were out of sight, and then continued staring in that direction with a stiff and upright posture for a while afterward. Racer and Sputnik were more concerned with the smells along the side of the trail, while their packmate was focused on those other hikers.

Variety Pack

Avo and Zoey enjoyed a bit of off-leash time on the Red Rocks Trails at Settlers Park, this afternoon. Avo made a big loop through the grassy field by the trail while her packmates watched her. On her return, Zoey joined in to chase her for another couple loops. After that, they sniffed around the eponymous outcropping of red rocks at the top of the mountain. The pack had sniffed hello with an off-leash dog near the trail head, and we crossed paths with the same dog when we started our descent. Mamacita had woofed at the dog on first meeting, but was more polite the second time around. Avo and Zoey were both very calm and friendly in greeting her both times. After coming down from the mountain, we walked a little way along Boulder Creek. A skateboarder went by, and the dogs all sat calmly without making a peep about it.
