    Friday Pack Activities

Adventure Pack Sputnik, Rucksack, Roger Roger, and Griff walked the Boulder Creek Path together this morning. We didn't encounter any kids who asked to pet the dogs like yesterday, but everyone had a good time walking together and wading through the creek when we made a stop by the water. We passed some other dogs along the way, and the pack all trotted by calmly. There was one point when Griff stared into a parking lot to the side of the path and pulled a bit on the leash

Adventure Pack Griff, Colby, Sputnik, and Racer walked the Boulder Creek Path this morning. We made a stop in the creek as some people floated by on inner tubes. Racer wanted to head right out into the middle of the creek, where the people were, but I kept her at leash length from the bank. Some kids asked to say hello to the pack, and Sputnik and Racer were both more than happy to have their attention. Griff and Colby hung back a bit, and only got pets from a couple kids

Adventure Pack Mamacita had a great time wiggling in the grass at the outset of our hike today. Meanwhile, Zoe and Ruffers enjoyed getting to know each other. Ruffers pawed at Zoe as she bounced all around her with playful exuberance. The streams around the Red Rocks Trails were all dried up today, so we headed back down to the Boulder Creek Path instead of going up the Anemone Trail. Everyone enjoyed a dip in Boulder Creek. A big, fluffy, black Shepherd mix came over to

    Tuesday Pack Activities

Adventure Pack The stream that we pass on our way up the Anemone Trail was running as little more than a trickle today, so instead we took a rest in the shade and everyone had some water from the CamelBak. Griff wasn't that interested and turned away after a few laps, but Racer, Sputnik, and Colby were all happy to have a drink. After we made our way back down and crossed over toward the Red Rocks Trails, everyone got a chance to take a dip in the stream on the Sanitas-faci

Adventure Pack Zoe and Sputnik were very interested in each other today. They've already hiked together a couple times, but only took a passing interest in each other. It seems like Zoe has been focusing on getting to know her knew packmates one at a time. She spent a lot of time sniffing Milo and following him around her first time out, she was all over Mamacita last time, and today she couldn't get enough of Sputnik. The two of them were nose-to-nose in the packmobile,

    Friday Pack Activities

Adventure Pack Sputnik and Mamacita wanted to sniff around a lot in the bushes along the dirt foot path beside Boulder Creek. We made our way along the creek slowly, while they investigated all the scents to be found. Rucksack and Zoe were more forward-focused and just wanted to keep moving. When we made our first stop at the creekside, Zoe hung out on the bank while the others all got wet. When we stopped at the water again later, Zoe waded in and spent a while in the wa

Adventure Pack Racer is definitely starting to pay more attention to signals instead of charging all-out in every direction as soon as she gets going. She waited her turn - when I called her by name - to hop out of the packmobile, patiently letting Sputnik out ahead of her without any attempt to slip through. However, all that discipline evaporated when we approached Boulder Creek for a break along the way. Everyone was excited to get in, but Racer charged down the bank an

Adventure Pack Ruffers was very excited to come out with her packmates again, after having a long break before she returned last week, and Sputnik greeted her in the packmobile with kisses. The pack walked along the Boulder Creek Path today. Ruby, Sputnik, and Rucksack kept pulling over to the side of the path to sniff around in the grass and bushes. Ruby was the one who really made the most of our stop in the creek today, as she lay down, stretched out, and rested with he

Adventure Pack Griff and Colby raced each other through the brush this morning, while Racer and Sputnik looked on with excitement. When she wasn't busy chasing Griff around, Colby walked right alongside the rest of the pack. Griff wandered a bit more. He was very interested in sniffing at the end of an old, large-diameter pipe beside the trail. After seeing Griff's interest, Sputnik followed up by also giving the area a thorough sniff. Racer's pulling has gradually been

Adventure Pack Ruby joined Mamacita, Sputnik, and Rucksack on our hike this morning, and fit right in with the pack. Ruby was a little hesitant to drink from the CamelBak spout during our first water break, but she took to it more easily afterwards. Mamacita dug a patch in the dirt while we were hanging out in the shade during one break, and lied down in it to cool off. As has become her custom, she lingered in the stream for as long as possible when we made a stop there l
