Friday Pack Activities (5/8/2026)
Adventure Pack The trails were already mostly dry today after the mid-week snowfall. We came across some soft spots, but Ski Jump Trail - which often is a mess after heavy precipitation - wasn't slick at all. Yoshi and Tozai had a blast chasing and tackling each other there. Nelly was occupied with sniffing around the trails and didn't get worked up about her packmates' play the way she sometimes has. Lou didn't relish the uphill travel of the first part of the hike. She took

Thursday Pack Activities (5/7/2026)
Adventure Pack Griff and Rey were very interested in nibbling on the grass that poked up through the snow. Racer was more interested in munching on the snow itself. Arlo was not in the mood for grazing like his packmates. He was content with kicking up snow after leaving scent marks - a diversion Griff happily partook in alongside him. Variety Pack Teo, Lou, Carl, and Tozai headed to Goose Creek Greenway this afternoon. Teo actually walked at my side without pulling for some

Wednesday Pack Activities (5/6/2026)
Adventure Pack Lucy greeted Lumi and Bear in the packmobile with her usual flurry of excitement, and gave Tozai the same treatment when he joined us. The dogs were eager to get out onto the snowy trails today. Bear and Lucy roamed around together, poking their noses into cave-like pockets that were formed by snow-laden bushes. Lumi enjoyed a good roll in the snow. Tozai and Bear chased each other all over the place. It was a great time for the pack. When the hike was over, Lu

Tuesday Pack Activities (5/5/2026)
Adventure Pack Imogene, Arlo, Griff, and Racer set out at Chautauqua amidst the big, wet snowflakes that were falling, which quickly had everyone soaked. Racer was undeterred in her quest to analyze the ditch by the trail head. Arlo usually wants to pause for a drink from the water bowl at the trail head, but he made no such move today; I guess he figured the whole situation was wet enough already. Imogene ran in big circles around the pack as we hiked across Bluebell-Mesa an

Monday Pack Activities (5/4/2026)
Adventure Pack We made our way up Chautauqua Trail at a very gentle pace today, as Ruffers and Rey both wanted to take their time. While we went slow, we kept a steady pace after the typical sniffing along Baseline Trail. With the overcast skies, Bear was a lot more willing to keep on the move without seeking breaks in the shade. Tozai bumped and chewed at Bear as they jogged down Ski Jump Trail together. They both did a good job of returning to me when I called them back to

Friday Pack Activities (5/1/2026)
Adventure Pack Lou was very interested in sniffing the Bluebell Road ditch today - not as intent as Racer, but she wanted to pull over and check it out multiple times on our way up. Lucy and Yoshi roamed through the fields without any chasing or tackling when they were off leash together. Tozai found himself a stick to chew on, and I think he was disappointed that nobody tried to steal it from him. Variety Pack Lumi, Alfie, Carl, and Ruffers headed to Goose Creek Greenway thi

Thursday Pack Activities (4/30/2026)
Adventure Pack The pack took their time sniffing along Baseline Trail and the Bluebell Road Ditch near the trail head, with Racer being the lead sniffer as usual. Arlo leaned into some pets from our OSMP volunteer friend Reid who wondered what it was about the ditch that drew the dogs' attention so intently. My guess is that moisture carries scents with it and collects in the ditch, creating a rich tapestry for the nose. When we did eventually get moving up the mountain, Rey

Wednesday Pack Activities (4/29/2026)
Adventure Pack After our last pickup of the morning, we saw a herd of deer walking through Tozai's neighborhood. Tozai and Lucy both woofed at them. The trails at Chautauqua did not have deer, so Tozai and Lucy occupied themselves with some chasing and tackling. After a bit of that, Lucy pounced at things stirring under the brush, and at a butterfly on the trail. She came very close to the butterfly but it narrowly escaped. Ruffers and Bear were ok with going up Bluebell Road

Tuesday Pack Activities (4/28/2026)
Adventure Pack The ditch along Bluebell Road has apparently regained its allure in the wake of the wet weather Boulder has recently had. Racer, Arlo, and Imogene all inched their way along it, sniffing the whole time. Even though it was a short part of the distance we covered, that short distance represented a significant chunk of our time out at Chautauqua today. Once we made our way back down from the mountain, Arlo started snatching up small sticks in the grassy Chautauqua

Thursday Pack Activities (4/23/2026)
Adventure Pack I guess the ditch along Bluebell Road has finally lost its charm for Racer. She only pulled over to sniff in it a couple times, and not for long. The rest of the pack passed by without much interest either. Griff and Arlo and Rey got a bit worked up when an off-leash dog with a ball started to approach the pack as we were first heading of Bluebell Road. We encountered another dog a short bit further up the trail, who approached with a less direct and imposing e
