Monday Pack Activities (11/10/2025)
Adventure Pack Tozai and Bear went off leash together after the pack poked their way through Chautauqua Meadow. Tozai was full of playful energy, and Bear was not, but Rey was bristling as she watched Tozai bounce around. So, Rey went off leash with Tozai in Bear's place, and the two of them enjoyed chasing and tackling each other for a while. Bear went off leash with Ruffers after that, and they were more each others' speed. They brought up the rear together as we hiked acro

Friday Pack Activities (11/7/2025)
Adventure Pack Teo, Lou, Tozai, and Nelly headed up Ski Jump Trail after making their way through Chautauqua Meadow. Teo's self-control seems to be gradually continuing to improve but he still gets very worked up when other dogs go by, so we moved away from the intersection and waited for a minute to let a dog through before we got onto Ski Jump. When we passed other dogs later in the hike, we pulled over to the side of the trail. Lou, Tozai, and Nelly all provided a good exa

Thursday Pack Activities (11/6/2025)
Adventure Pack Rey and Griff led the way by a short distance while they were off leash during our hike at Chautauqua this morning. The wind was blowing pretty hard and the trails were all but empty. Arlo was sporting his fancy, red bandana for the second time. He and Racer ventured into the tall grass a few times - sometimes to do their business, other times just to sniff around a bit. Everyone wanted a drink from the CamelBak when we made a short pit stop. Variety Pack Milo,

Wednesday Pack Activities (11/5/2025)
Adventure Pack Bear was having some digestive issues today and wasn't particularly playful with Tozai during their off-leash time together. Without her packmates running around, Nelly stayed mellow for the whole hike without any commotion to dance around about. Ruffers kept up with the rest of her packmates when she first went off leash, but started to linger behind when we headed up the lower part of Royal Arch, then took a shortcut between switchbacks to catch up. Variety P

Tuesday Pack Activities (11/4/2025)
Adventure Pack Imogene, Griff, Arlo, and Racer especially took their times walking through Chautauqua Meadow today. Each of them wanted to stop many times, and whenever one of the started sniffing, everybody else had to check out the area as well. Griff and Imogene didn't wander far when they went off leash. Racer became ravenous for grass at one point and pulled over several times to tear up what she could find, but then her stomach seemed to settle without vomiting. The pac

Monday Pack Activities (11/3/2025)
Adventure Pack Tozai and Bear enjoyed some wrestling around on the trails today, although Bear sometimes just paused and stood tall when he wanted to convey to Tozai that Tozai's enthusiasm was a bit too much. Rey joined in a bit when the boys were near. Ruffers declined to get involved in any rough-housing, even when she was off leash with Rey and Rey ran over to her and dodged around to try to get her going. At one point, there was a Husky a ways ahead of us, who was linger

Friday Pack Activities (10/31/2025)
Adventure Pack Tozai and Yoshi had some fun chasing each other around on the trails today. Nelly was enjoying the action, and danced around in place a bit while watching the boys go at it. Yoshi, Tozai, and Lou all got some pets from a friendly hiker. Meanwhile, Nelly took the opportunity to try to munch on some grass while everyone was distracted. Chautauqua Trail had a steady stream of people on their way up the mountain as we were making our way back down, and several of t

Thursday Pack Activities (10/30/2025)
Adventure Pack Our trip through Chautauqua Meadow was a bit swifter today as the pack only stopped to sniff around every so often. Rey and Griff led by a short distance while they were off leash together, checking out points of interest ahead of Arlo and Racer. We didn't see any turkeys today, or any other wildlife. Hikers were not in short supply, though. Rey got some attention from our OSMP volunteer friend Reid while her packmates were busy drinking water at the trail head

Wednesday Pack Activities (10/29/2025)
Adventure Pack The pack came across a big flock of wild turkeys as we were traversing the mountain on Bluebell-Baird Trail. Everyone was very interested in the two dozen or so turkeys. Nelly, Bear, and Tozai couldn't tear their gazes away and Tozai tried to jump toward them a couple times. Ruffers watched them but wasn't as fixated as her packmates. Variety Pack Dylan, Carl, Alfie, Lumi, and Griff walked Bear Creek Greenway with the usual pit stops. Dylan wanted to pull over

Tuesday Pack Activities (10/28/2025)
Adventure Pack Racer was especially sniffy in Chautauqua Meadow this morning. The rest of the pack was happy to join her as she set a very pokey pace, making sure to check every inch in the grass beside the path. Arlo sniffed and marked a bit on his own, without taking direction from Griff all the time. Imogene got into a playful mood at the end of the hike and started poking at Racer. Racer made some dodges that seemed more out of annoyance than playfulness, so I had Imogene
