Wednesday Pack Activities (8/26/2026)
Adventure Pack Tozai, Bear, Lucy, and Nelly headed up the mountain along Anemone Trail at The Peoples' Crossing today. We encountered several other dogs during our outing. The first was one passing by the trail head just as we set out; Bear and Tozai both made quick moves toward the dog, who was passing along the paved path about 20 feet away from us, and Bear grumbled. Their reactions surprised me because they haven't had outbursts like that lately. Lucy and Nelly might have

Tuesday Pack Activities (8/25/2026)
Adventure Pack Imogene, Arlo, Griff, and Racer hiked up Anemone Trail today, with cooler weather and intermittent cloud cover. We encountered several other dogs at different points on the trail. The pack was very calm and polite as they went by, and a couple of the other dogs stopped to sniff hello. We passed through Eben G. Fine Park at the end of our hike, and I was surprised by how empty it was on such a nice day. Variety Pack Carl, Alfie, and Tozai hit the trails at CU So

Monday Pack Activities (8/24/2026)
Adventure Pack Bear, Rey, and Tozai all waded out into the deeper water of Boulder Creek, while Carl got just as submerged in the shallows. We headed west up Boulder Creek Path for a bit today instead of just striking out east down the creek from Eben G. Fine Park. There was a small pile of something indistinct in the grass of the park out in front of the library, that Tozai pulled hard towards when we passed it. On the way back through, it caught everybody's interest and the

Friday Pack Activities (8/21/2026)
Adventure Pack Lucy, Tozai, Lou, and Nelly strolled Boulder Creek Path on what was one of the hottest days we've had this year, with the temperature hitting 99 F. Nelly didn't get into the creek but she put up with me sprinkling a bit of water over her to help cool her off a bit while the others all climbed down into the creek. There were a bunch of kids in the fields outside Boulder High School, and several admired the dogs, saying that they loved them. Variety Pack The blon

Thursday Pack Activities (8/20/2026)
Adventure Pack Racer, Griff, Rey, and Arlo walked Boulder Creek Path starting at Eben G. Fine Park today, since the parking lot at The Peoples' Crossing was closed due to a fire that had broken out. An evacuation warning for the fire was "All Clear" before we headed that way, but the area was still blocked off to traffic when we arrived. Surprisingly, the parking above Eben G. Fine Park was wide open. The pack made their usual pit stop at the stone steps on our way out of the

Wednesday Pack Activities (8/19/2026)
Adventure Pack Nelly got her feet wet in Boulder Creek while Lucy ventured out to about her ankles; Bear and Tozai waded out into the deeper water in the same spot where Lumi enjoyed a good soak earlier this week. We kept steadily on the move down Boulder Creek Path after the pack's water break. Lucy and Tozai showed some maturity when we passed a rambunctious younger dog who was pulling and barking at us, and they didn't react at all. Nelly and Bear likewise minded their man

Tuesday Pack Activities (8/18/2026)
Adventure Pack the steps by the bridge at Eben G. Fine Park were empty, so Racer, Imogene, Griff, and Arlo all got to hop into Boulder Creek at the start of their walk. We strolled Boulder Creek Path without any sightings of waterfowl or other critters. We had been following behind another dog briefly, and the pack all stopped to check out a spot where that dog had pulled over to pee ahead of us. Arlo and Griff paused to sniff hello with that dog when we passed shortly after

Monday Pack Activities (8/17/2026)
Adventure Pack Carl always wants to check and mark the first tree we encounter when we enter Eben G. Fine Park from the underpass, but people are often there so I make him skip it and go to the next one instead. The whole pack checked out one particular juvenile tree volunteer a little further along Boulder Creek Path. Bear and Carl in particular seemed like they would have just sniffed around it all day if I hadn't eventually prodded them along. Bear, Rey, and Tozai all got

Friday Pack Activities (8/14/2026)
Adventure Pack Yoshi and Lucy roamed the fields around Red Rocks Trail on our way up the mountain while Lou and Tozai trekked along at my sides. Lucy seemed to be in hunting mode, scanning the landscape for critters to chase after, while Yoshi was sniffing his way along the trail. Even though the air temperature was a bit cooler today, the sun was out and beating down on us, so we spent the latter part of the outing strolling Boulder Creek Path, with a quick dip in the water

Thursday Pack Activities (8/13/2026)
Adventure Pack Arlo, Griff, Rey, and Racer headed up Red Rocks Trail under grey skies. Either Arlo heard faint, distant rumbles of thunder or he is just sensitive to the kind of weather that heralds it, because he was very hesitant to go up the mountain and kept rearing back. He didn't totally shut down the way he has done when there are nearby cracks of thunder or fireworks, and I was able to get him to keep going. Racer, Griff, and Rey were all happy to be hitting the trail
