Tuesday Pack Activities (6/2/2026)
Adventure Pack Racer, Imogene, Arlo, and Griff headed out across Chautauqua Meadow to Gregory Canyon under grey clouds, much like the pack did yesterday. The rain held off for our entire hike this time. Griff was in more of a wandering mood than usual, which reminded me of his younger days when he would venture out across a field with little regard for my calls to heel. Imogene was poking along on her own, close to the trail, but then went on a sprint by Griff and lured him b

Monday Pack Activities (6/1/2026)
Adventure Pack Ruffers was back to being lead scent finder on our hike today, with Tozai closely following her discoveries. Bear and Rey tended to be a little slower to join in the sniff party but always checked things out as well. We took cover under a tree in Chautauqua Meadow when the light sprinkles turned into a brief rain shower. After that, Tozai poked at Rey while she tried to stand her ground and defend her position. I interrupted whenever Tozai started steamrolling,

Friday Pack Activities (5/29/2026)
Adventure Pack Lou was doing a good job keeping pace up the mountain today. The cool, overcast weather probably helped with her stamina. Nelly also had no trouble, even though she and Lou both had a moment of hesitation when our connector trail met up with Chautauqua Trail and I turned to head up the mountain rather than down it. Tozai and Yoshi had plenty of youthful energy and didn't have any hesitation at any point; however, they didn't have a lot of energy left to romp ac

Thursday Pack Activities (5/28/2026)
Adventure Pack Rey was even more adamant about stopping and sniffing on our way up Chautauqua Trail than Racer was today. Griff took some water from the CamelBak even though it wasn't particularly hot. Rey also had a drink; Arlo and Racer took as much as I would offer. Racer got some pets from our OSMP volunteer friend Reid and leaned into his leg to show her appreciation. The rest of the pack was occupied at the watering hole after Racer took her turn at it first. Variety Pa

Wednesday Pack Activities (5/27/2026)
Adventure Pack Lucy was her usual, enthusiastic self when greeting Bear in the packmobile today. Tozai and Ruffers were already with her at the house beforehand, so they were spared the focus of her attention but still received some friendly fire from her whipping tail. The looming rain clouds made for nice, cool hiking weather today, which Bear and Ruffers especially appreciated. We only got the lightest sprinkle while we were out on the trail. Variety Pack Alfie, Carl, Nell

Tuesday Pack Activities (5/26/2026)
Adventure Pack Racer, Arlo, Lucy, and Imogene headed to Chautauqua for their hike today. Lucy was a bit nervous about being out with a different pack than usual. Instead of greeting everyone with wild wiggles and kisses, she shied away a bit when Arlo and Racer hopped into the car and Arlo sniffed at her face and gave her kisses. When Lucy and Imogene were off leash together, they spent most of the time doing their own things, sniffing different areas on their own times. By t

Friday Pack Activities (5/22/2026)
Adventure Pack Alfie and Lucy were very interested in a shrub we came by on our way up Chautauqua Trail. Lou and Tozai soon joined them in sniffing it, and the whole pack spent several minutes giving it a very thorough examination. Later on in the hike, a small pine tree got a similar treatment. In between those stops, Tozai chased Lucy around for a bit. Lucy ran with Tozai at first but took refuge among the pack when his persistent advances were more than she knew how to han

Thursday Pack Activities (5/21/2026)
Adventure Pack Griff, Rey, Racer, and Arlo enjoyed hiking Chautauqua today. The trails are getting busy again now that the weather has mostly cleared up. The whole pack got pets from a hiker who stopped to ask for directions. Even Griff accepted the pets from a stranger after seeing his packmates happily receive the attention. Variety Pack Alfie, Tozai, Carl, and Ruffers headed to Goose Creek Greenway for a pleasant stroll. There were a lot of bicyclists out, passing by as Ca

Wednesday Pack Activities (5/20/2026)
Adventure Pack Lucy and Tozai had a blast racing around the trails today. Every so often, when she wanted to catch her breath, Lucy would come seek haven at home base among the pack. Tozai waited until she was ready to go again and then gave pursuit as soon as she bolted. Ruffers and Bear spent their off-leash time in a much more leisurely manner. They mostly kept each other company while sniffing along the edges of the trail. Bear ventured off the trail on his own at one poi

Tuesday Pack Activities (5/19/2026)
Adventure Pack Imogene bounded up and down the trail as we hiked up the mountain. She made a pass in front of Griff to see if she could get him riled up, but he didn't take the bait. The earth was damp but not muddy in many places, so splatter was kept to a minimum. Racer veered off the trail now and then to sniff around. Arlo stuck to my side more closely - only breaking off from the trail when he had business to attend to. On the way down the mountain, Imogene grabbed up so
