Tuesday Pack Activities (1/13/2026)
Adventure Pack Griff, Arlo, Racer, and Imogene braved the gusty winds at Shanahan Ridge today. The pack took their time along the connector trail, giving good, long consideration to various tufts of grass. Thankfully, the winds were brief-lived and calmed by the time we were about halfway through our hike. Imogene found a small stick that she chewed on briefly before dropping it and leaving it behind; Arlo didn't forage for any sticks today. Neither did Griff or Racer, though

Monday Pack Activities (1/12/2026)
Adventure Pack Bear and Rey explored Shanahan Ridge off leash together, trotting over to each other to check out the spots the other had found. At one point, Bear disappeared over a hill to one of the small ponds we pass by, and Rey stood in the snow with poised posture, waiting for him to reappear. When he did, she turned and went on a rabbit run, expecting him to pursue her, but Bear just casually trotted over to catch up with the pack. Ruffers stopped to munch on snow here

Friday Pack Activities (1/9/2026)
Adventure Pack Tozai and Lumi had fun racing through the snow together at Shanahan Ridge. We came by a Bernerdoodle who then played hard with Tozai for a while. Lumi ran with them a bit but didn't quite keep up, and decided to flop down in the snow and wiggle around for a bit. Once the Bernerdoodle moved on, Lucy got some off-leash time with Lumi. They ran around a bit at first but then split up to sniff around on opposite side of the trail. Tozai and Lucy then got a turn tog

Thursday Pack Activities (1/8/2026)
Adventure Pack Rey ran and frolicked through the snowy field beside the path at Shanahan Ridge while Griff sniffed trees and bushes. Racer walked with her nose down along the edge of the trail for the entire hike. She occasionally found some bits to chew on that I'm hoping were twigs and not poopsicles. Arlo found a big branch that he was very pleased with, and he lay down to chew on it until it was broken up into sufficiently smaller pieces. Variety Pack The Valmont Dog Park

Wednesday Pack Activities (1/7/2026)
Adventure Pack Shanahan Ridge was bustling again today with both human and canine travelers. Tozai and Lucy pulled at their leashes a bit when some of the dogs went by but minded their manners pretty well overall. They had some fun running around, with Lucy playing rabbit as Tozai tried to catch her. Bear and Ruffers were chilled out and took their time on the trail, lingering far behind when they had their turns off leash. At one point, when I stopped to let them catch up, t

Tuesday Pack Activities (1/6/2026)
Adventure Pack Griff and Imogene led the way together at Shanahan Ridge. They would run ahead and then stop to sniff a spot until Racer, Arlo, and I caught up to them. Arlo was sporting a fancy, sparkly necklace that made me think of the pearls Racer wore at the same time when Lou started wearing pearls, before Lou got a more permanent pearl collar. Variety Pack Tozai was off to play with the nearest dog as soon as we entered the park. It took a little time for Carl to locate

Monday Pack Activities (1/5/2026)
Adventure Pack Rey and Ruffers found an interesting, old, felled tree to investigate alongside the trail at Shanahan Ridge today. Bear and Tozai did some hopping, dodging, and wrestling around with each other. The trail was much less busy than at the end of last week, now that the holiday season is behind us. Variety Pack Dylan, Carl, Lou, and Alfie strolled Bear Creek Greenway this afternoon. Everyone stopped at the first big tree by the parking lot at Martin Park to check o

Friday Pack Activities (1/2/2025)
Adventure Pack Given the warm weather and holidays, there was a very high turnout of dogs with their people at Shanahan Ridge as Nelly, Lou, Tozai, and Alfie went for their pack hiked. The pack kept on the move pretty steadily throughout, without getting too distracted by the other dogs or scents along the way. Nelly and Alfie each wandered a bit into the brush on either side of the trail, but did so while keeping in stride. Lou and Tozai stuck closer to me. Tozai did his rou

Tuesday Pack Activities (12/30/2025)
Adventure Pack Arlo and Imogene each found some twigs along Mesa Trail and chewed them up as we went. A little later on, Arlo found a bigger stick that he flaunted proudly. Imogene stole it away from him, and then he stole it back. Griff and Racer didn't get involved in any of the playful back-and-forth, and just hiked along nicely at my sides the whole time. Variety Pack Dylan, Lumi, Carl, Alfie, Ruffers, and Lou walked Goose Creek Greenway this afternoon. We saw a dead prai

Monday Pack Activities (12/29/2025)
Adventure Pack The dogs were in tracking mode today, with their noses drawing them in all different directions through the snow. Everyone was adamant about pursuing their own scents, which made pack management a challenge. Bear and Rey took a brief break from their investigations, to frolick a bit together, and Bear enjoyed rolling in the snow a couple times. Alfie and Ruffers just sniffed everywhere. Variety Pack Griff, Carl, Dylan, Lou, and Alfie walked Bear Creek Greenway
