    Tuesday Pack Activities

Adventure Pack Yoda, Griff, Sputnik, and Isaac headed up the Anemone Trail from Settler's Park this morning. The boys made lots of stops to sniff and leave scent marks along the side of the trail. Griff was the most interested he has ever been in taking water from the CamelBak. Yoda abstained from water on our way up the mountain, but was the first in and last out of the stream when we made a stop there on our way over to the Red Rocks side of the trail system. Sputnik ga

Adventure Pack Mamacita, Rucksack, Roger Roger, and Sputnik took their time walking the Boulder Creek Path this morning. We pulled over frequently for the pack to sniff around in the grass and brush along the way. Sputnik continued his streak of getting pets from random people along the Creek, when he looked up at a man as we were passing by him, and stopped to say hello. The man was happy to give Sputnik some attention before we continued on. Everyone hopped into the cre

Adventure Pack There was a fishy smell in the air along much of Boulder Creek this morning, so the pack didn't get in at the usual spots. There was one area where I didn't notice the smell, so Mamacita, Roger Roger, Rucksack, and Sputnik got in for a quick dip. Hopefully they didn't carry an odor when they went home. I didn't notice one on them during the rest of our walk, but the scent from the creek was pretty overpowering at some points. Variety Pack Clover, Monarch, Zo

Adventure Pack Curie enjoyed her second outing with the pack today. Since it was a bit cooler and cloudy, we headed up the Anemone Trail from Settler's Park. Griff roamed off leash, while Sputnik and Curie stayed with me. We only went partway up the mountain before heading back down and over to the stream on the way to the Red Rocks Trail. Sputnik started licking Curie's ears on the way down. He has been very enamored with our new addition. When we made it to the Red Ro

Adventure Pack The pack walked the Boulder Creek Path this afternoon. Everyone hopped into the creek during our first stop, but the water was relatively shallow there. When we made another stop on the return leg, Rucksack and Isaac went out to water that was deep enough to swim in. Meanwhile, Sputnik just dunked his face in, and Mamacita stayed ashore. One walker asked to say hello to the pack. He threw his arms out wide, and Sputnik and Mamacita both walked right up for

Adventure Pack The pack headed up the Anemone Trail again today, since it was another relatively-cooler morning. Yoda and Racer, being all black, sought some refuge from the sun by hanging out in shaded spots along the way. Griff and Sputnik wandered off leash and checked out the smells along the way. When we came back down the mountain, Racer was extremely impatient to get into the stream. Griff, Sputnik, and Yoda all hopped in behind her. Yoda and Racer hung out in the

Adventure Pack Mamacita hesitated slightly when we turned toward the mountain ascent along the Anemone Trail this morning, but it only took a moment of coaxing to convince her to continue up. Rucksack and Roger Roger were already on their way, up ahead of me, Mamacita, and Sputnik. We came by a couple dogs along the way, and Sputnik stayed calm and polite. About a third of the way up, we took a short break at a small clearing off to the side of the trail, following Rucksac

Adventure Pack Rucksack and Sputnik went out into the creek far enough that they could swim. Rucksack went back to swim through that stretch a few times. Mamacita and Roger Roger cooled off in the water, but didn't venture out into the deep water. Mamacita set a conservative pace for the pack, and rolled around in the grass when we took a break in the shade. Roger Roger and Sputnik also stretched out in the grass, and Sputnik found a twig to nibble on. Variety Pack Isaac

Adventure Pack We had a new member join the pack today - Curie! Curie and Griff were first to meet before our hike. They sniffed each other politely and then Griff lay back down to signal his approval, while Curie continued sniffing around in the back of the car. Sputnik joined us next. He was very interested in Curie and kept sniffing at her the whole way to Eben G. Fine Park. Curie was happy to sniff hello at first, but started to feel a bit cramped and grumbled at Spu

Adventure Pack Sputnik was again the least interested in getting into the water the first time we stopped at the creek today. Isaac, Rucksack, and Mamacita waded around for a good, long while. During our subsequent two stops, the heat must have gotten to Sputnik because he no longer hesitated to join his packmates. Variety Pack We walked the shady Bear Creek Path in south Boulder this afternoon. When we passed through a sunny stretch and then neared another patch of shade,
